About this user: As a kid, I grew up on a staple diet of 80s films such as Rambo, Robocop, Terminator, Beverly Hills Cop etc. I was always fascinated by these films and the alternate "reality" they offered. I was fortunate enough to escape the attention of my parents and stay up late on school nights and watch a diverse range of film.
I studied Film at college and then obtained a degree in Film Studies in 2007. I am hoping to pursue postgraduate studies in film within the next year. I am interested in a range of national cinemas and am currently researching the Wuxia pian genre and the influence of the literary tradition on this cinema. I have also been following Hong Kong Cinema for some time now, in particular the works of Chow Yun Fat and, of course, John Woo :)
I hope to be able to share my critical appreciation of film, as well home viewing video formats, with others.
