Review of Suzanne Cox Detox Plan

    5 / 10

    Introduction

It`s not all action movies and sci-fi here at DVD Reviewer - occasionally we have to review serious discs as well.

As I am a 28 year old male who enjoys (too much) beer, kebabs and generally unhealthy food - combined of course with nowhere near enough exercise, I was of course the natural choice to watch Suzanne Cox Detox Plan "To A Healthier You". I thoughtfully watched it after consuming a chicken curry and garlic/corriander naan bread.

    Video

Video comes in no-thrills fullframe and in general is of pretty good quality.

Some of the exterior shots have noticable grain, but this is not apparent for the vast majority of the program which takes place indoors.

Visuals consist of the hostess guiding the viewer through the preparation of various healthy dishes, some simple relaxation exercises, skin brushing and various interviews with people involved in aromatherapy, yoga, herbal medicine etc.

Everything is prefessionally put together and well presented.

    Audio

Sound comes in Dolby Digital 2.0 and if of acceptable standard throughout the program.

For the most part, the sound consists of Suzanne Cox talking the viewer through what she is doing, and her dialgoue is clear and understandable at all times.

    Features

There`s no extra calories here with only "scene access" and "play movie" available from the main menu.

    Conclusion

Overall, despite dreading watching this DVD, I actually watched if and found it reasonably interesting.

This interest is helped by the presenter Suzanne Cox (who used to be the Gladiator Vogue) who is very confident behind the camera as well as being quite pleasing to the eye. Other similar programs suffer from being very droll and unprofessional presenters, but Cox`s presentation is lively and doesn`t dwell on anything long enough to bore the viewer. In particular, as a health and fitness specialist she actually knows what she is talking about and so doesn`t have to concentrate on it at the same time as presenting the program.

Despite being advertised as a two-day detox plan, the program concentrates on the first day - day two is a repeat with slight differences in the meals (which are within certain parameters the choice of the viewer. Interviews with experts in various fields are also kept reasonably brief and do not detract from the program.

Overall, if your idea of a keep-fit/health DVD isn`t jumping around in a leotard like a madman doing all sorts of bizarre exercises, this one may be for you.
