Synopsis:
The Cannonball Run brings Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett, Dom DeLuise, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and an all-star cast to the starting line of the ultimate auto race, a madcap cross-country scramble that roars full-speed ahead.
Hal Needham, the director of such souped-up hits as "Smokey and the Bandit," "Hooper" and "Smokey and the Bandit II" is at the helm of a wild action-comedy inspired by an actual event: The Cannonball Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, an anything-goes, all-stops-out - and thrillingly illegal - competition that has grown to legendary proportions in the last ten years.

Your Opinions and Comments
The film consists of many people taking part in an illegal 3000-mile race. Fast cars, sexy ladies. The winner is very unpredictable to the very last minute.
Picture
The 1:85:1 Anamorphic transfer is very crisp for an NTSC DVD, colours are very rich and natural. The R2 version has faded colours and picture is very soft.
Sound
This DVD features a newly remixed 5.1 and a newly remixed Stereo soundtrack from the original Mono sound elements, both soundtracks are very clear and have very nice separation effects to it.
Extra's
Not many extra's apart from some biography files for a few of the stars and an audio commentary with Director Hal Needham and Producer Albert S. Ruddy which is very entertaining to listen to
Conclusion
This film isn't an award winning Oscar but it is very entertaining and I strongly recommend it, but if you have a Multi Region DVD player then seek out this R1 version which is much better than the R2 release.
