There`s nothing more to say about this DVD after reading the excellent review given by Mark Fountain. The film itself is great enough to justify printing onto a featureless DVD, but boy is this value for money!

The picture is crystal clear, the sound is just as haunting as you would experience it in the cinema (perhaps better), and of course you are guided through the wonderful extras personally by M. Night Shyamalan (writer + director).

Also, if you go to the second page of `Bonus Material` you`ll find that you can access what looks like a book, as an icon. This is just a brilliant finishing touch (especially since this extra is not mentioned as part of the special features)... it contains 2 or 3 minutes, following a commentry by M. Night Shyamalan, of his first ever film - a hilariously low budget home made horror movie directed by and starring himself when he was just 11 years old!

This disc will probably rule my DVD player for a very long time :-)

I like the movie a lot! Great extras too and it`s a DVD everybody should have. Unfortuntely I hate the trailers at the beginning of the Region 1 DVD which can only be fast forwarded. Are we back in tapes? Hello?

This is my 100th review for this site. :)
A good movie, especially for anyone who watches it for the very first time.
I won`t comment on the plot since it would probably be giving away too much information.
The video transfer is far from being good. A lot of the dark scenes suffer from excessive grain. While there are no visual effects in the movie at all, a better transfer was obviously due.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is a bit disappointing. The surrounds are almost never used and most of the creepy atmosphere is created using only the front speakers.
The menus are all animated with sound.
The extras include a big behind the scenes look, divided into about half a dozen segments. I wish it was one long documentary instead of the shorter clips, because navigating through the clips can get annoying. The extras also include a glimpse at the director`s very first movie (when he was about 12) - hilarious. Unfortunately, there is no commentary track.
Bottom line - a good movie that will thrill you the first time you watch it and actually make sense the second time around.

M. Night Shyamalan is a very good director and he knows how to put together a horror film. He is the writer and director of The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs. The Sixth Sense is the film that got me interested in his work and i have remained intruiged by his directing.

This is a very good film about a boy played by Haley Joel Osment who has an unbearable sixth sense. This sixth sense allows him to see ghosts. Bruce Willis stars as a child psychologist who feels he must help the boy to make up for another child he gave up on. The script is excellent and there are surprises around every corner. Very good film.

This dvd is presented as Widescreen 1.85:1 and it looks very sharp.

The Audio specification is 5.1 Surround and the film sounds brilliant. The voices, soundtrack, and background all sound extremely well.

Special features include
-Storyboard To Film Comparison
-The Cast
-Music and Sound Design
-Reaching The Audience
-Rules and Clues
-Deleted Scenes
-A Conversation With M. Night Shyamalan
-Publicity
-Filmmakers` And Cast Bios
-French Language Track

These features aren`t too bad. A Conversation with M. Night Shyamalan and the Deleted Scenes stand out above the rest. The special features for this dvd arent great nor are they terrible but they are above average.

Overall I think this is a very good dvd and it is worth owning if you enjoy horror or are a fan of Signs or Unbreakable. Well directed, well acted, and well written.
