    MOVIE
I read a lot of bad press about this movie, and sort of got it on a bit of a whim (It was this or Road to Perdition) It starts, and it`s a bit Hitchcock isn`t it, with those titles. And it continues in this sort of vein, albeit with some CGI. I felt it was actually one of the scarier films I have seen in my life. There`s no gore, no real violence, but it is incredibly tense. The jumpiest part was the bit with the home video footage. Jumped out of my seat there. It is also the directors funniest film, with the bit in the town quite humorous. the acting is good, apart from the directors cameo, but gibson and phoenix are great even if the acting technique of the lead in shyamalans movies are all similar. Maybe we should break with the kids thing next time, and I do hate to see the old Hollywood cliche of the single father family, but this one worked.

    VIDEO
A modern movie, so good, clean print, nothing wrong at all

    AUDIO
A nice DTS track for the UK, and the sound is nice and booming, although those start credits were a bit too loud. Good, and scary

    EXTRAS
A good selection, and on one disc this time. Still no commentary, but a good making of one very good deleted scene amongst some average others, and a childhood movie again.

    OVERALL
A nice take on the alien invason genre, and deserving of it`s gross it took. Maybe won`t stand up to repeat viewings, but a good one to rent or borrow off someone.

An interesting film, though somehow I found it unconvincing. It has many interesting concepts, the most evident is the importance of faith....

Not much wrong with presentation here though...
