RE: Pioneer DV535 or Sony DVPS335...

I have the Pioneer and can`t complain about it. Except that on numerous occasions, there seemed to be a slight delay in the picture when moving between certain scenes. But they were mostly on rented disks. Bought it because of the price, it received lots of great reviews on www.audioreview.com and it can play CD-Rs and CD-RWs. It is the replacement for the 525 which some viewed as one of the better entry-level DVD players.

RE: Home theatre sound.

Here in South Africa, Yamaha doesn`t offer the VS-10. I bought a RXV420 amp and NSP220 speaker set instead. I`m not an expert but this system rocks and the Cinema-DSP modes are excellent. I was also interested in Sony`s HTK stuff but it can`t compare to the Yamaha stuff in my opinion. Spend the extra money, it is worth it.
