RE: Philips 756 Region 1 Hack?

if you use the RC6 hack you don`t have to switch anymore; it`ll play any region you insert....

dunno what 750 hack you`re refering to?

PHILIPS DVD 622 & digital audio out?

I have the above mentioned player (with coaxial digital out) and use it combination with my amplifier with digital input.

problem is, that when playing MP3 digital out is disabled... Philips says this has to do with SDMI, but isn`t SDMI watermarking of audio files? I can`t see what that has to do with playback...

anyway the digital output is not *really* disabled, it just doesn`t give an audio signal (it has a carrier signal)... anyone ideas about how to bypass this?

RE: General PAL/NTSC/SECAM question...

well, changing the P-code on my dvd player switched it into a region 2, ntsc player with no component (rgb) output

I`m in region2 but with a PAL system (like most region 2 users)

hence, uncarefully used P-code tend to do such things...

basically, the problem is solved, since the French P-code worked fine for me; when it comes to component or composite video there is indeed no difference between the signal; I forgot to look at it that way!

RE: General PAL/NTSC/SECAM question...

wel, yes and no... :)

I know that there are differences in videobandwidth and audiocarier for PAL B/G en SECAM, I was just wondering how these systems are applied to dvd players in region2 (more specifically the Netherlands and France)

so it doesn`t answer my question I`m afraid....

General PAL/NTSC/SECAM question...

Am I correct in assuming that dvd players basically come in two flavours (having seen some P-code lists): PAL and NTSC?

If so, what happened to SECAM? Or are all SECAM tv`s capable of playing back PAL signal? All I know is, that playing back SECAM on a PAL system leaves you without color... or is that just VHS related?

Why am I asking? :)

Well, I changed the P-code on my dvd player, without writing down the original one (I know, stupid... ;) ).
Now I saw a code in this forum, of an (identical) unmodified region2 player, but this puppy is from France and mine is from the Netherlands.

any input appreciated!
Willem

Philips 622 region 2 P-code?

Does anyone know the original P-code for this (region 2) player?

RE: Philips DVD 622 code probs

I`ll keep an eye on it!

Philips DVD 622 code probs

Hi,

I tried to switch regions on this device using faulty p-codes (PLAY 159 - 001.000.000.000 - PLAY for region 1 and PLAY 159 - 013.000.000.000 - PLAY to get it back to region 2).

In doing so I`ve lost my scart funcionality, most importantly my rgb output; hence my picture quality sucks at the moment... :(

when I look at the version info it says:
2.9.6 010515 P13 5.1.14

so, I assume this would be firmware version 2.9.6?
never heard/read of this firmware version yet...

anybody got any info on how to switch my scart back on? I tried the firmware 7.12 P-codes, but the ones I need (54 or 55) are not accepted...

anyone willing&able to help me out here? would sincerely appreciate it!

tia,
WIllem
