you need to press the standby button on the player not the remote. and then title clear power on the remote. nothing will happen until you insert a region 1 disc.

Soory about that.
The hack i tried on my friends sony davs300 worked. it will play region 1 and region 2. dont know about macrovision didnt try it.
all we did was the following.

In standby mode press title,clear,power . this worked fist time with no problems. seemed very easy but hey! it works..

when in standby mode press the following. title,clear,power. plays region 1 and 2 dont know if it turns off macrovision.
