Audio Connection?

Hi,

I`ve just bought a Toshiba 32Z18P 32" widescreen TV, VCR and Toshiba 210 DVD player. I`ve connected the DVD and TV using component video but I have a problem with the audio between the two...

When I bought the equipment I knew that I wanted to use component video but my knowledge of audio is scant and so when I asked the guy about it he said I needed a separate audio input and got me a lead.

Now, I`ve tried to fit this lead but the outer rim seems slightly too small and I`m not sure I want to try and force it too much. This got me thinking that maybe I got given the wrong lead? It`s an IXOS Audio Interconnect Cable (105 is the model number, I believe). If anyone can tell me either way if this is right or wwrong I`d be grateful :)

P.S. Would a Denon 1602 work well with this setup plus a CD player and maybe a PS2?

RE: Baffling top 100!

I don`t think anyone can be really surprised that Star Wars/Empire Strikes Back were #1 because the poll was based on popular opinion - not critical acclaim.

RE: sony dav s800 - what 32

What are John Lewis` requirements for price match? Will they match online prices if you provide evidence?

RE: Looking to buy widescreen TV and DVD player - help appreciated

Which would you guys say is the best out of the following 32" widescreen TVs:

Toshiba 32ZP18P
Philips 32PW9576
Sony KV32FX65

I`ve basically settled on the Toshiba SD210E DVD player as no-one`s come up with anything that they think is better.

Does anyone have any links to info about amps, speakers, etc? I don`t know much about this area and was wondering if it`s something I really need or not.

Thanks again

Ribs

RE: Looking to buy widescreen TV and DVD player - help appreciated

Cheers for all the suggestions so far guys :)

Seems like Toshiba`s getting the votes so I`ll probably proceed down that avenue unless someone has a strong case for another brand. I should clear a few things up I guess:

40" is bigger than I can accommodate, I believe. 36" would be max that I can fit into the room with all my other junk. :)

The DVD player sounds like it`s got the vote though - just need some more help with the TV now :D

Thanks again and keep it coming :)

Looking to buy widescreen TV and DVD player - help appreciated

Title basically tells the story but I`ll add some more details :)

I`m looking to get a widescreen TV - no less than 28", preferably 32" or more. I don`t need a "budget" TV as such and am willing to spend up to around £1200 if the quality of the TV warrants it. It`ll be used for a mix of terrestrial TV, DVDs and videos so I don`t know what`s best when it comes to 50hz, 100Hz, etc (help!).

I`d like the DVD player to be capable of playing R1 discs, although I don`t currently own any. Seeing as this is my first set-up, I don`t know if I`m better off with a kit (players + speakers, etc) or separate components. I`m willing to spend up to £500 on the DVD if, like the TV, it warrants that much due to the quality.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Cheers
