Hi daveybuoy,
The only hack I have found that works needs a One For All remote. ( I used a one for all 5, urc7550 )It doesn`t matter which one you use as long as there is a Magic button on it. You can find full instructions on this web site.

Hi, I used to have one of these things, it won`t play VCD`s or MP3 but it will play audio cd-r`s.
Watch out for it freezing up when you play big discs, the one I had would not play The Terminator or The Matrix.

Hi Dee,
I had a similar problem when I tried this hack on my 612s.You have to follow the instructions exactly as you read them.
I used a One For All 5 remote ( urc 7550 ) and used the set up code 0539 on the VCR button and followed the rest of the hack and it works fine.
