I bought 1 of these a month ago
it now ships with 3 dvds on 1 spindle , and yes , i`m sure
the early ones were ok
not worth it - for once get it from amazon etc.
then you`ll get the proper foldout packaging
you know it makes sense

The news page reveals a multi-region hack for these players
does that mean they will record onto the vhs as well
or am i being a bit ambitious ?

1) is the smart card for the olympus different than the kodak 3700 ones ?
2) the review mentions a panorama function available using olympus
cards - i bet they are much more expensive ?

i reckon there is a valuable lesson here
with multi dvd sets there is apparently a chance of cutbacks
on packaging to save money

i just bought it from cd-wow
its r4/r2 ok but packeaged really cheaply
all 3 dvds are on the same spindle -asking for trouble
DONT buy it - not worth it in the long run because of the aggro

one thing about the DVPNS700
layer change - how do you rate it ?
+ how noisy is it in normal operation - not the menu seeking
type of noise but in normal use
i`ve heard its not good on this layer change
aspect but realise its often down to the disc
and where its placed as i tend not to notice them at all
e.g. fight club r1 - layer change when the door closes
any feedback would be appreciated
apart from that concern , it seems quality
