RE: SHREK> Anyone else having BIG out of synch problems????
My mate spent around £600 on a Phillips DVD player and he too has had trouble with his Shrek DVD synch along with a couple other DVD titles (admitedly some are R1) However I recommend buying the same model I have! Bought it in LA a year and half ago for $120 it was muti-region, plays DVD, CDR, VCD, SVCD, MP3, CD and when I am board of playing DVD`s I use it as a Kareoke player! I have over 200 DVD`s and never had a single problem with any of them, including Shrek. I rate my `RAITE` as 10 / 10!
A long shot, but here goes ...
Anybody know if they are or maybe have already released The Famous Five on DVD? Not talking about the modern series but the orignal 1970`s versions. I have them on video, and still watch em today ... brings back all that nostalgia when you wanted so badly to go on such a great adventure looking for hidden treasures and solving mystery`s involving disapearing friends. All you really had for an adventure was your BMX burner and a He Man figure. GOD!
The market is there for them, what with all the other titles being released like The Flumps, Chorlton and the Wheelies and Bagpuss to name a few.
Cheers
RE: Any plans to release all the episodes of Dawsons Creek on DVD ???
Thanks for the info on this, shame its not good news. Well, I have my fingers crossed for the future. I might start a campaign going on yahoo I know that there are a lot of fans out there that wants this. All we can do is try
Cheers
Any plans to release all the episodes of Dawsons Creek on DVD ???
As a relatively new fan of this series I was wondering if anybody new of any plans to release the whole series on DVD instead of just those 4 episode ones which I found to be a little disapointing as there was no continuous storyline.
Hope someone can help
Cheers
RE: What DVD`s did you get for Christmas ???
I didn`t get to see his 2001 tour but I did see him in Taunton in 1999 ... This guy is one of the best stand up comediens around today and its just a shame that he doesn`t get more press coverage. But I look forward to seeing the re runs of Black Books on C4 in a couple of weeks along with the new series straight after. In my opinion Black Books was one of the best comedies on TV last year and hope for a DVD release of the series soon.
RE: Bond Collection - Discontinued?
I think you will find that this Box Set has been deleted. If you are quick enough then go to ebay and place your bid for the DVD box set.

RE: Anyone got Wicker Man region one, Whats the quality like?????? thanks.
I must just say that this region 1 release (in the Wicker Box etc) is by far the best you are going to buy. It was a low budget feature, and the print itself is old but the quality of this DVD has done the film wonders, with praise going again to Anchor Bay!!! The only thing that could have been done differently is the extended versions scenes which are placed unmastered into the film. This leaves these scenes noticeable by lower quality, but hey, come on ... for years and years we have had to put up with the cut version and this gives us the chance to see most, but not all, of the missing scenes. I know for sure that the R2 release will not contain anymore missing scenes than the R1 disk because roomer has it, the full footage is being used as a foundation under a motorway somewhere in Britain. Also The Wicker Man documentary on the disk is excelent, if you are a fan of the movie like me, then buy both R1 and R2 for the commentary.
DVD Concept ... A real pain! any feedback from you guys
I was wondering what sort of feedback from you lot on this company was like, any problems?
I placed my order for the Region 1 movie, Made on the 7th of December and even paid for the next day delivery service (about £1 I think) total cost of DVD was still quite cheap (about £16) but with 3 emails I have received no news on my order. Looked at my account and it keeps reading ` Back order` Tried phoning but can never get through. A real pain in the A#*
Would normally use Play 247 but this DVD was temp out of stock, think I will stick to em in the future!!!
Cheers all and happy new year

Just to Say a BIG Merry Christmas to you all and ....
Don`t forget if you want to have a laugh over Christmas see Die Hard on ITV. I notice in the Radio Times that they mention it is edited for scenes of violence and bad language ... if this is the version I remember ITS HILARIOUS !!! They replace the classic Bruce Willis line yippy kiya Motha F**a with ... well see it (it brings a smile to my face)
Surely in this day and age ITV should have got there act together like most of the other terrestrial channels and left the film intact as to what it should have been. They are a Joke!
Cheers all, once again have a great christmas and new year
Chris
RE: Wes Anderson? Shane Meadows? What do these and others have in common?
I do like Peter Jackson, Bad Taste is a classic of that genre ... But I love Heavenly Creatures ... great movie!
You probably already know but you can get hold of the Fandago quite easily in the US, I must admit to liking it myself when I saw it on cable out there. Anyway here are the links
Amazon.com stock the movie Fandango but its on NTSC (Both VHS)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0790740176/qid=1008968756/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_10_1/102-7854426-9837745?tag=myrev09-21
Or Ebay you can get it cheaper but again NTSC only http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1497966801
Wes Anderson? Shane Meadows? What do these and others have in common?
Ever heard of these directors? They all have one thing in common, great movie makers!!!
It has come to my attention that many movies are overlooked in the UK and that means all the while Hollywood dish out crap like Tomb Raider, Battleship Earth, Mummy Returns etc etc etc, we miss out on the true greats like the ones I am going to list now.
Lets start with a film that is possibly my fav, BOTTLE ROCKET! Its stars are all talented (including the underrated actor Owen Wilson from Shanghi Noon fame, in his first feature, he also co wrote and produced it with Wes Anderson) Not heard of in the UK, its a great movie, with charater driven plot, excelent script and lovely photography. The comedy is light hearted, the music has become a trademark of all Wes Anderson films ... the follow up was the excelent RUSHMORE, which is a little more well known. AND IT IS A MUST SEE!!! It`s available from Play247 only on R1. It never got a release here ... TRAVESTY!
Here is a brief list of other very underrated movies that I consider my favs
HOUSE (R2) British comedy film set in a Bingo hall in Wales ... YES BINGO! and its not boring, its brilliant! Stars the lovely Kelly McDonald from Trainspotting fame.
A ROOM FOR ROMEO BRASS (R2) Another British film that got hidden away from the public, directed by the Talented Shane Meadows (Twenty-Four Seven). The cast are excelent, especially Paddy Considine star turn leaving you to wonder if you should laugh or cry.
LOVE AND SEX (R2) Starring the excelent Jon Favreau (Swingers fame, another of my top 5 movies) A true romantic comedy that will appeal to both sexes
SOME VOICES (R2) Again starring Kelly McDonald and a great performance from David Morrissey. Its an unconventional love story set in London and is very moving
TUBE TALES (R2) A collection of short stories based on and around the London Underground from first time directors like Ewan McGregor and Jude Law. A must see short directed by Armando Iannucci!
And last but by no means, least
IN THE COMPANY OF MEN (R1) Directed by Neil Labute and starring the underrated Aaron Eckhart (Erin Brockovich) This movie is so hard to watch, its a cringe fest. But very funny! About what lengths a guy will goto to get his own back on the opposite sex!
So there you have it, some movies that you may not have heard of ... if so, SEE `EM! If you are feeling a bit low after this years offering from the flicks, see these and they will tell you that there are still great movies around, honest!
TELL US YOUR PICKS? MOVIES OTHERS MIGHT NOT BE AWARE OF.
Cheers
PS If I can get one person to say they have baught Bottle Rocket! My job here has been done!!!

RE: Bollywood DVDs?
Thanks everybody ... Lot to go on here, especially like valueindia
But still cannot find Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Just checked on IMDB and it says that it is not available on video or DVD. I can`t beleive that its not available being it such a popular movie of the genre. But I have seen several others to get my hands on
Cheers
Bollywood DVDs?
Anybody know of any good sites that stock Bollywood DVD`s? Either in the UK or elsewhere? Especially the movie, Love Will Walk Off With The Bride?
Cheers
RE: An American Werewolf in London
An American Werewolf in London was due for a release back in November on region 2 but for some strange reason it was delayed. They now give the date of March 2002 for its release. I beleive it could be worth waiting for because it is going to contain a few deleted scenes that were not included on the region 1 release
