RE: DVD Recvrder with editing out facility

Thank you very much pat-w, that sounds exactly right.

I already have a Panasonic DMR-E85H which I bought a couple of years ago. It has done sterling service and has never let me down yet. It is a delight to use but I think maybe that I should upgrade to a newer version. When I bought it, it was £450.00p, but has been worth it.

DVD Recvrder with editing out facility

Hello Everyone

Anyone any idea which DVD Recorders offer the facility to edit out advertisement etc. after recording movies from the TV please, and which of them will record digital, when the time comes to change from analogue?

RE: Bang & Olufsen BeoVision DVD Player

Thank you Micoman for replying.

The B&O DVD is incorporated in the very latest B&O equipment.

I tried Nero for my friend and it does not work. I have a feeling that B&O themselves have no idea what does work in their dvd player apart from MP3 and normal movies.

For the price that my friend paid for his equipment, some £6.000+ one would expect it to play almost anything, but it doesn`t. If it doesn`t recognise what the DVD is that you feed to it, it simply spits it out with absolutely no information why it is doing so. Really awful gear.

Bang & Olufsen BeoVision DVD Player

Hi Everyone

No. I do not have one of these unneccessary expensive machines. Can`t afford it!

However, I have a friend with one. B & O (the company) reckon it will play Video CDs, I have tried it with a number of different programme versions and none will work.

May I ask if anyone has any idea what might play on this expensive piece of junk. All my friend wishes to do is to produce a Video CD or DVD of his digital pictures and make a photo CD.

RE: Panasonic DVD Video Recorder DMR-E85H Problem

Thank you OMR. Iset it up today and it recorded OK. It it set up for a later recordeing, so fingers crossed. Otherwise I will have to live with the problem.

I do realise of course that it could be finger-trouble on my part?

RE: Panasonic DVD Video Recorder DMR-E85H Problem

Thank you for replying OMR. Yes I do have the machinery switched off, and it just remains stone-dead. However, this morning I set it up to record one minute of each TV programme; BBC1, BBC2, ITV3, ITV4. Cx5 and Sky and all were OK.

I was wondering if there are any software upgrades for this machine? >:( >:(

Panasonic DVD Video Recorder DMR-E85H Problem

Has anyone with one of these machines ever had a problem with recoding programmes from the TV please?

Occasionally, like today for instance I set it up to record a movie from BBC2, but for some unaccountable reason it decided to miss it out. This has happened on quite a few movies. When it does record it is super, but when it decides to say "Balls to your recording," it really is most annoying.

Anyone else experienced this please?

RE: two movies onto one dvd-r

Thank you chaps.

I am impressed with the Panavision E85. Got my sky decoder, VHS Recorder and my old Betamax Recorder machine piped through it. All work like a charm.

RE: What length of movie will a DVD Recorder stuff onto a 4.7gb DVD please??

Ye GODS Ogster ! I am flabbergasted by your reply. 6hrs you say?

My reason for sounding so surprised is that I use my PC to make movies, not particularly exciting stuff mind you, just family mainly, and I can just about squeeze 2hrs 04mins onto a 4.7gb DVD.

What you say sound very interesting. Thank you very much. I`d better hop out and buy one.

What length of movie will a DVD Recorder stuff onto a 4.7gb DVD please??

Hello everyone

I am about to buy a DVD Recorder. Can anyone please answer the following question :
" when recording say, a movie from the TV channel, what is the maximum length of movie (in hrs and mins) that the machinery will stuff onto a 4.7gb DVD."

Cloning DVD`s

I use a piece of software called `CD Clone,` it is very good. Does anyone know if there is a similar software for cloning and copying DVD`s without putting the whole thing onto a hard-drive first.

RE: Are all

Hi

You can buy the Logix DVD3300 from Omni Power Systems for £99.88p excluding postage. However, if you do, please ensure that you ask them which updates it has onboard.

I bought a Logix 3000 from them (in fact I bought three) but did not realise, nor had I asked, that they included only version 1.34 which is non-upgradable. I did try to contact their helpline, but I think it would be easier trying to contact Mars? I am now selling mine and have bought a Kuuri 838d which so far, I am delighted with. It cost me £135:71p includung postage from `After Hours Computers.`

RE: KIIRO 838d DVD Player

Hi Spin

Thank you for the information. I bought a Kiiro 838d from `After Hours Computers;` arrived this morning; £135:71p including postage. Very good delivery service too.

I have only had a tiny play about with it so far but I do think that it is very good. I particularly like being able to alter the colours and brightness from the hand-set. And another great thing is that it plays MPeg 2`s with no problems at all.

May I ask how you found out that one is able to carry out CDRom upgrades please?

RE: Playing MPeg-2 CDRoms

Forget this request please I now know, having just bought one, that the Kiiro-838d does play Mpeg2`s very well. By the way I do not think that SuperVCD and MPeg2 are the same?

RE: KIIRO 838d DVD Player

My apologies for the somewhat obscure question. I was just wondering that should I buy on, and I most probably will, does the machine have the facility, like many others, to enable one to download possible improvements, to a flash-rom?

Also, does it in fact have a secret menu?

KIIRO 838d DVD Player

May I ask if anyone knows if the Kiiro 838d is upgradable and does it have a secret menu access please?

Logix 3000 and Mpeg2 CDRoms

May I ask if anyone knows if the Logix 3000 can play Mpeg2 CD`s please.
I know that mine does not but I wondered if there is a download to enable such a feature please?

Playing MPeg-2 CDRoms

May I ask if anyone has actually tried to play a MPeg2 CDRom on any DVD Player please?

I have read that the Yelo will do this but there was no actual example in the reports saying this could be done.

Thank you.

RE: Logix 3000 and the rom upgrade

Thank you Toy car,

I have no idea? How can I find out? I think that I have a `out of date` Logix 3000 and may have to buy a new DVD Machine?

The Instruction manual does not indicate that I do have a upgradable machine?

Logix 3000 and the rom upgrade

May I ask if every Logix 3000 has a flash-rom upgrade device please? My reason for asking is that I downloaded the 2.6 from the Scan site, burned it onto a CDRom, followed the instructions, but when I switch on the Power for the writing bit, nothing happened at all. It just said `No Disk.` So I am wondering if there is no Upgrade device in my machine?

One further question please. Should there be anything on the burned romother than Tdvd-000.rom

Logix 3000 and the Sound volume

May I ask if there is any way/hack to improve the sound capabilites on the Logix 3000 please. On many DVD`s I have to have the volume selected on the Logix itself to 16(maximum) AND the sound on the television up to 40+ !!
