RE: Dixons XL half price opening offers

I was in the store at lunchtime yesterday. The offers are genuine although limited in number - but not too silly. I think the PS2 offer is limited to 40 units per day. They have a lot of stuff in the sale and the queues were amazing but appeared to be genuine bargains to be had.

RE: Trading Standards Reply

This thread started off with "it`s almost certainly a mistake but let`s give it a go".

It is now suggesting these guys are b[at].sdrats

Deep down you all were fairly sure it was a mistake but decided to have a go. Who is in the wrong ?

Imagine you are in an on-line auction and want to big £25 for a corkscrew. You accidentally type £255 instead. Very obvious mistake. How would you feel when the vendor threatens legal action ?

I know you can talk about Terms & Conditions etc but please try to see that you took a gamble. You didn`t win but you didn`t lose either !

Push this sort of thing too hard and we`ll start to lose sources of genuine bargains as people go out of business or can`t take the risk any more. Then no-one wins.

Dismount soapbox.

RE: does anyone else have this problem with their tosh 210e?

Another suggestion would be that the remote controls are clashing. Try putting a physical block in front of the amp (or turning it around). If this stops the problem then the infra red codes are clashing. I had this on a video player once - everytime I pressed fast forward, the TV switched off !
