does anyone else have this problem with their tosh 210e?
hi gang,i have a 6 month old tosh 210e hooked up to my 2 yrs old sherwood newcastle doldy digital amp.it plays my dvds ok until i use the next track selection button on its remote,it changes to the next chapter ok but 7 times out of 10 the sound disapears,it will only come back on if i change my selection on the input on the sherwood remote to something else{say tv}and then back to dvd and the sound reapears! this is the second machine i have had,the first one did the same but more of it. is there something wrong with this machine as well or is it my digital amp?ps..it makes no differance if i use co-ax or optic lead, they both do the same. i am getting pretty cheesed off,can any one help?

Surely the fact you`ve had 2 machines do this points to the amp ?
My 210 is hooked up to a Sony HTK215 and it`s never done that. My mate`s 210 is hooked up to a Yamaha VS10 system and his has never had any probs either.
Time to get a loan of another amp I think...
I`m no technofile but it sure sounds like a circuitry problem in the amp. Whatever part of it ` locks on ` to the DVD signal is faulty and needs you to kick start it back into action by switching from one thing to another.
As long as it gets a continuous ,unbroken signal, or it`s told to look for a signal by switching from one thing to another then it`s fine.

Another suggestion would be that the remote controls are clashing. Try putting a physical block in front of the amp (or turning it around). If this stops the problem then the infra red codes are clashing. I had this on a video player once - everytime I pressed fast forward, the TV switched off !
