RE: Decided it`s time to upgrade to broadband.
Get broadband!!...but get ya self a decent firewall! too many script kiddies messing around with sub7 and the such like!
BlackIce Defender
Tiny Personal Firewall
are the ones I have most joy with, you find that when you get a perm connection, so many sad lil kids and wanna be hackers do ip swoops and p*** about with ya machine, well......in my case at least try.
This is the only downside of having broadband, I think places Like NTL change your IP every so often, which can be a bonus.
and like the other guy said, Get broadband, get a huge Hard drive....man! mines 40gb and already full with mp3`s and movies...oh but that would be against the law! hmmmmnnnnnn well......yeah! but there all for personal use officer!...HONEST!

RE: VCD - A LEGAL POINT OF VIEW
Well......what about making a backup copy of VCD`s, Like you can with CD Software?
Software companies allow you to make backup copies of their CD`s as long as you dont distribute the copie(s), Also that you can install on other machines (Like ya friends) only if you Unistall the software from your machine first, before you install on a friends machine. Then only one copy can be used as particular software licences state.
So would this theory be wrong for films?
Make a backup copy of your film, "Lend" your backup copy to a friend as long as your not watching your film at the same time as him then your not breaking the law?
Just a thought?

CDR...?
Hi,
I have a Thompson TV/DVD Combined, 28" model, cant remember the full model name.
I have used the region code hack and it worked to great effect, now am just a lil unhappy that the damn thing that cost me just under £1`000 wont play CDR`s. It will play official DVD`s and VCD`s but I want to be able to play those special disk that you get of ya mates! you know...the gold disc`s? :-)
Is there any physical way I cant get to play CDR`s on my system?
If any of you know either way then please let me know...otherwise am taking the whole hunk back to where I bought it!
Cheers
Paul
