"Ghost In The Shell" (R2) Sound-sync problems

Anybody else bought the excellent Mange movie Ghost In The Shell on R2 and found that the sound seems to be about half a second behind the visuals ? I have a Toshiba SD100 R2 and have had no problems with any of my 50+ discs yet apart from this one.

I`ve tried stopping/starting and all different audio tracks available and they`re all the same delay behind.

I seems a bit of a moan but when you have a film with action, explosions, crashes, gunshots etc it makes it a bit of a distraction once you notice it !!! Imagine the scene......

{window smashes on screen}...{slight pause}..."smash!"

Any advice ??

RE: Another

It seems that it was a combination of a flaky analog lead included with it (I guess the odd one must slip through) and also that it was quite low volume on the rear speaker setings.

Once I replaced the lead and used a different volume set (the TV holds a few) to balance out the speakers, it all sounds great.

I`m sure the neighbours thought so as the Matrix went ballistic at 11:30pm ;o)

Cheers !

Another "DTS/Pro-Logic/5.1" question on here - sorry !!!

Sorry folks, but it`s another "DTS/Pro-Logic/5.1" question !! Apologies in advance but if there was a good "this does this and this doesn`t" FAQ around I`d have used that !!

I have a Toshiba SD100E - great picture, easy to use but for one tiny (!) problem. We have a 16:9 TV with Dolby Pro-Logic and surround speakers but I`m not getting any output from the back speakers. Every other device plugged into it works fine (TV, Video, Sat, console etc) and pushes out surround.

Can somebody point out either a flaw (or some advice) based on the following:-

The DVD player is set to output "Analog 2ch audio" and, as I understand this, this should carry the Pro-Logic signals piggyback on the L/R audio tracks thus firing up the rear speakers.

Whilst we don`t have a DTS or DolbyDigital decoder, the Toshiba has the capability for both and should (IF I`m right) downgrade the signal - I`d heard/read/understood that 5.1 discs also carry the info to power Pro-Logic setups. Obviously not as much punch, but good enough for a newbie to all this.

I`ve tried using the scart connector and also tried seperate L/R audio and vido jacks (though I`ve read on the FAQ that these amount to the same and should both work to carry the extra surround signals)

Any help will be rewarded somehow (ok, I`ve no idea how but you get the idea !!)

Thanks, in advance,

Andrew Beeston
