"Ghost In The Shell" (R2) Sound-sync problems

Andrew Beeston (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 17th January 2001, 12:24

Anybody else bought the excellent Mange movie Ghost In The Shell on R2 and found that the sound seems to be about half a second behind the visuals ? I have a Toshiba SD100 R2 and have had no problems with any of my 50+ discs yet apart from this one.

I`ve tried stopping/starting and all different audio tracks available and they`re all the same delay behind.

I seems a bit of a moan but when you have a film with action, explosions, crashes, gunshots etc it makes it a bit of a distraction once you notice it !!! Imagine the scene......

{window smashes on screen}...{slight pause}..."smash!"

Any advice ??

i noticed that a bit but i dunno, maybe something to do with the sound dubbing or something being a manga film...is it same for Dubbed and Subtitled soundtracks?

I noticed it when I got it back, I got the video to compare...yup...hmmm...oohhh.....yeah, the videos in sync, nothing wrong with it, so the DVDs out of sync by a half a second (my best guess) on both tracks. It`s been out a while, so I can`t see how people are gonna complain about it now. Still, it does rank as one of the best animes I`ve seen. But damn hell, wheres all the Hayao Miyazaki features coming out. Pah! forget it, I`m getting the region 1 releases.

it seems to be more in sync in the japanese soundtrack.
Have you noyiced teh subtitles are totally different to the english soundtrack. They make more sense than the english soundtrak anyway.

Thanks for offering but sticking things up my ass isn`t my thing, go see bear, fac63 and Le Porne - they love that sort of thing.

In fact just mention the cap thing and they`ll let you join them because they`ve never used anything that big before (they`ve only used each other`s dicks you see!)

Now get going boris before I change my mind and dispose of you ;-)
