8) try this.... insert a region 1 disk and as its loading
keep pressing the 1 button on your remote, it should play.
it worked for me anyway...

help ,ive been waiting since march for the sony dav ds1000 ,
every e tailer on the web is advertising it but when you try to buy
they have no stock.iv,e tried sony but they are very secretive about
the way they sell products ... any help would be appreciated.....

if you bought it pre chipped ,im pretty sure it,ll handle rce disks.RCE is not that new ,and most chips now play all rce disks.

this really depends on the actual chip used on your machine .i own a sony dav s 300 it s chipped and it plays RCE ,ps it was chipped by multi region magic.

HERE WE GO ,press open/close to open the tray key in from remote,3,3,0,8,and 8. now press 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2 and so on to make it region free press 0 then press open /close .... hope this helps

yeah there is a cd based hack for this player ,read furher on in the forum,there is a direct link to the site.you will have to burn a cd to make this work .but it is very straightforward.

this hack works,ive done 2 machines recently,no problem at all.make sure the file directories are in order when you burn the disk.
