DVDr880 - Firmware Upgrades

Hi there.

Can anyone tell me what the latest upgrade allows the 880 to do that it doesn`t at present?.

Is anyone out there prepared to send me an upgrade on disk that I can use?. Don`t own my own PC....

RE: macrovision and the dvdr880

Hi Gav.

I don`t see why this wouldn`t work, despite what has been said. I have a YELO DVD800 standalone player which is multi region and macrovision disabled. I have successfully `backed up` several titles so far. I can`t get the remote hack for the recorder to work, but the YELO has a PAL60 mode, so I can even do Region 1 disks OK.

Philips DVDr 880 Query

Hi Everyone.

What I`m attempting to do is copy some old VHS recordings onto DVD+RW disks. I`ve connected an S-VHS VCR to the recorder, but when I press record on the remote, the COPYPROT message comes up and nothing happens. These are not pre-recorded, bought tapes, they only contain stuff taped off the TV!. Why is my recorder insisting they are copy protected?.
