Ravi. Seems to me that you are the main man to my query.
I also have a Lecson DVD machine and I read with great interest about the firmware update. What does this update achieve? The Lecson, for example, will not zoom more than once with R2. But will zoom x3 with R1 or R4 films.Will this update improve on the capabilities of this machine or just deals with problematic discs?

I have a 1 year old Lecson. Do U or anyone out there know of Macrovision disable for this machine? The zoom function on this machine is also crap...anyone owns one? and can this function be upgraded via software.

sorry, but MP3 is not my domain.
But can anybody tell me if the zoom function can be enable when playing a PAL disc. According to the instruction booklet, zoom funtion only works with NTSC disc. I have tried zooming with a PAL disc and only managed "zoom 1" . Zoom 2 and 3 are only activated with a R1 disc. Rather bizarre for a machine sold on the European market.

Dilbert man, I must agree with you. The Lecson is a very capable machine. I bought mine last October and have not encountered any problem. I recently bought a surround sound system and plugged it into my Lecson and the sound reproduction is excellent. I would have no reservation in recommending this machine to anyone looking for a decent DVD player. I also have R1 films and have no problems playing them using Pal 60. The player is easily hackable and produces excellent picture and sound quality. So guys, what are you waiting for? Go get yours!

Yep Andy. Yu make sense to me, man. The picture and sound reproduction from Lecson is purrfect. If you don`t have a wide screen TV, use the zoom to achieve a larger picture with no noticeable distortion in the picture quality. Use it with R1 or R2 films...No problems.

Lecson has to be one of the best budget DVD player on the market at the moment, retailing at just £200. in Debenham.
Bought one 3 weeks ago and have had no problems with it. Owned a Daewoo previously and that was crap. It went back pronto.
Picture excellent and plug it into an amplifier and listen to the fantastic sound reproduction. Would think you were at the movies.

For hacking, check Region hack on this page and follow the instructions as for the new Whafedale S DVD player.

I have seen this play247com. site and am very impressed with their wide choice of films. Incidently, their R2 films are cheaper than R1 films.
So one wonders why bother with R1 imports after all?

YES. The Daewoo DQD200 as advertised in Argos is in fact the DHC2200.
I enquired and found that Argos had made a mistake in their new catalogue.
The hack for the machine is still working perfectly.
