Cheapest DVDs or what ??

ELVIS (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 21st January 2003, 18:50

URL DELETED BY MODERATOR ; CLEARLY A PIRATE SITE
I have come across this site, and the prices are excellent.
Most DVDs are $11 us dollars, which is £6.41.And postage for any quantity is $5 dollars which is £2.91.

I have had One order from them of 4 dvds and they are excellent quality and only took a week to arrive.

I have now orderd the Star Wars Trilogy, which is only $30 dollars which is £17.46.

Please take a look and tell me what you think.

At these prices, as well as being Region 0, they can`t be original copies. Good prices but I think I`ll pass!!

I`d say "Or What"!

Looks like a pirate site - Star Wars has NEVER been released on DVD. It has only been released on VCD. My guess is these cowboys are burning copies of the VCD to DVD.

Nope, they will be bootlegs DVD`s mastered from the Laserdiscs. They are actually quite good quality, although not a patch on most official releases. They are, however, the best and most practical way to watch the Star Wars Trilogy if you don`t have a Laserdisc player. I have a set myself (bought from ebay for £15) and watch them all the time. They are widescreen and DD 5.1 sound.

Anyway, that is a pirate site, and I wouldn`t give any of my bank/credit card details to them.... they could and probably will use them in the future. And I`m not going against piracy here, I`m just trying to stop you from losing all your money. And I am against piracy, but Lucas forced me to buy these bootleg Star Wars DVD`s because he hasn`t released them yet. But be assured I will be first in line when they are officially released.

I have had from them Gladiator,Attack of the Clones, and Harry Potter the new one.
all have been excellent quality played in at least 4 peoples differing DVD players, they are def not Vcds as they are only 1 disc and the quality is DVD picture and sound, and as I thought whatt could you lose even if I ordered just 1,their customer sevice has been excellent too.
Surely they do not see your credit card details as there is secure payment through CCNOW.
