W H Smith 1/2 Price special offers
Just been to my local W H Smiths in Exeter and picked up Beauty & The Beast - 2 Disc Collectors Edition for £9.99
Also saw in the store...
Harry Potter And The Philosopher`s Stone (Widescreen)(2 Discs)
The Mothman Prophecies
Monsters INC - 2 Disc Edition
Stuart Little 2
These had big Half-price red stickers on them and were on the normal shelves and not included in the sale....should work out to be around 8.99 to 9.99.
Might be worth looking around abit to see if there were any more....(Was really busy in the shop....plus pushing a baby around screaming doesn`t help!!)
Happy hunting...
Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs (1937)(Collector`s Pack)
Thought all you Disney DVD lovers out there might like to look at this gem I found in the MVC online sale.
http://www.mvc.co.uk/common/product.jhtml?pid=13549504
The retail on this is £24.99 but it`s on sale for £10.99 plus £1.00 P&P. There are lots of other great DVD in the sale, so you can mix and match and still only pay £1.00 for the P&P.
I ordered it just after Christmas and it really is a nice DVD to own.
The case is designed like a opening book and when you open it there inside is a 191 paged book called.."Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs...An Art in Its Making" The book tell the story of the design for the film with lots of great photos.
The DVD itself is a double disc with loads of extras.
I went to my local MVC in Exeter to see if they had it on the shelves in the store but they did not and the place was packed to the ceiling around the sale section, so this might be one of those special online purchases.
If you love Disney DVD;s or just animation and don`t already have this in your collection, then you have to get this before it goes.
Start saving now....2003, another expensive year...
It`s an expensive time for all us DVD collectors. All the summer films to see and then to purchase later on in the year.
I tend to sometimes let off going to the cinema in the summer as I know that come Nov/Dec I will have to shell out another £15.00 quid to buy the summer blockbusters. In 2002, I did go and see AOTC & Spiderman which I indeed bought on DVD as there are some films that you must go see.
I will not be going to see "Star Terk: Nemeis" as I have read some reviews stating that it`s a little dull? Though I will buy it on DVD when it becomes avaliable.
Here is a list of potential discs that we all may want this year...that`s if there all not Turkey`s (That`s a sore subject at the moment!!)
The Hulk
Matrix Reloaded / Revolutions
Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers
X2 - X Men II
Full Throttle - Charlies Angels II
Terminator 3
Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets
Daredevil
Treasure Planet
Finding Nemo - Pixar`s new film
The Fast & The Furious II
Sinbad - Legend Of The Seven Sea`s - Dreamworks new animation film
Bad Boys II
Tomb Raider II - Cradle Of Life
The Sound Of Thunder - Dinosaur summer flick with Ben Kingsley
Underworld - Tale of Romeo & Juliet with vampires and werewolfs..wow!!
These are just the big summer flicks, there are also films like Dreamcatcher, The Core, Basic, Bruce Almightly.
Personally, the one I hope turns out to be a great is "The Hulk" but theres also "The Matrix: Reloaded & Revolutions"...then there`s T3, it`s just endless..
2003...this is going to be a killer year for fantastic films, me thinks?
What films are you really pinning your money on this year?
Happy new year to ya all
RE: Which is your favourite 007 DVD?
It would have to be between "The Spy Who Loved Me" & "Goldeneye" with maybe "Goldfinger" close behind...
Have not had the chance to see "Die Another Day". It is as bad as some people are saying? I have ordered it from Play anyway...have to wait until 19th May for that one. The disc looks quite impressive as do all the Bond discs.

RE: Waiting for those Special Editions?
Ahhh yes...Goodfellas, great film.
Seems that Warner Bros have a lot to answer for when releasing their crop of films....
Batman, Goodfellas, Twister, Payback....
Though, they have released titles with lots of features on them - even for single discs,
Matrix, Deep Blue Sea, The Exorcist, Superman, Scooby Doo - yes I have bought Scooby Doo, not watched it yet....that`s for Christmas day if their is a load of s**t on the box.
What about The Goonies, Firefox, Leon, Superman II. These films have to get released as SE at some time
Waiting for those Special Editions?
We all have our favorite films, the ones we grew up with!!
I have started to ease off buying older films as I know that one day a Special Edition will be released and pi** me off after buying the first version that came out.
Here is a list of films that I personally would like to be released as Special Edition - ( 2 Disc with lots of features - that`s what we all like - isn`t it?)
Batman
Batman Returns
The Lost Boys.
The Crow - released on the 27/01/03 - hope it`s not pants.
Gremlins
Disney`s The Black Hole
Top Gun
Face off
Nikita
Flash Gordon
Some films I have bought and wished I had held off a little longer...oh well!
Shrek
A Bug`s Life
Highlander - Directors Cut - Awful picture quaility - was cheap though
Star Trek - First Contact
Romeo & Juliet
Point Break - I just know Fox will release a special edition one day!
Titanic
Twister
Tarzan - Normal version
What films do you wish the studios would give a fresh lick of silver paint?
Star Trek - The Motion Picture (Directors Cut) 2 disc edition

RE: Missing Bonus Features - Fast and the Furious
I had the same problem....just follow this guide.
Select Special Features
Move down past the first four features until you get to the bottom.
Next to PLAY MOVIE should be a small yellow arrow type thing facing right....just click on this to access the rest of the features. There are three pages in all.
I thought that the arrow next to the PLAY MOVIE text activated the movie but it indeed allows you to access all the features, so they are all there as printed on the back of the case.
Hope this helps.

RE: Missing booklet?
Thanks for the info..I will still try and hunt down a really good image on the web and print it off on photo paper just to make it look a little better
Maybe its just me, as you tend to get used to seeing one when you open the case....also happened on my copy of Stargate - Director Cut that I bought from MVC about 6 month ago...is that the same thing.
Don`t these movie companies make enouth money from us!!!!
Cheers Kevin.
Missing booklet?
Does anyone out there know if Jurassic Park 3 on region 2 comes packaged with a inner booklet?
I bought one from Play.com a week ago in there Universal Studio sale for £11.99. When it arrived there was no booklet inside and it looked rather cheap! I contacted Play and they told me to return the forementioned disc for a replacement, which arrived this morning....again with no booklet inside..um?
Has anyone else had this problem and does it indeed come with no booklet.
If it does and I have to find a new one, where can I get on from. I have scanned the web this morning quickly but no luck.
