RE: minimum wage
iam not standing up for labour, i just want to see that all workers are paid a decent living wage instead of the "iam alright sod anybody else" i have a good memory of what happend in the 80s i voted for thatcher in 79 then i saw inflation of 22 percent and interest rate of 18 percent and 1000`s of decent hard working people lose their homes either by losing their jobs or by the high interest rates at that time......
minimum wage
one of my sons has just started a part time job so that he can raise extra cash as he is in college. he is 23 years old and he will be working on sunday`s 9.30 to 5.30 on sundays for a well known high st newsagents.. his pay is £5.52 per hour. my big worry is that if the conservative`s get in at that next election they are going to end the minimum wage and let employer`s pay what they want to their employee`s let`s hope they don`t win other wise millions of workers might have to take a paycut to stay in employment..
RE: Anyone else feeling the "££" pinch?
things could be a lot worse for all of us, if the conservatives get back in power they will as they put it (market powers will allow wages to be agreed by employers and employees) no more minimum wages david cameron did vote against it. i feel for the poor sods whoose employers use tips to make up their pay to the minimum wage and it`s about time that was stopped by law..
RE: England lost 3-1
the only limp dicks, belong to rooney, and ronaldo (who should should join the portugese diving team, he would world champion)
the way he goes running to the ref, to get players sent off, rooney did foul the player, but ronaldo made it worse, i hope rooney gives him a good kick in the balls, the cheating b that ronaldo is.
RE: Can you get DD5.1 sound on Sky Plus - without an optical lead/connection?
you need a optical output from your system for sky+ if you have a coaxial output i belive you can buy a converter that will convert a coaxial out to optical
RE: ukonline question..
i have been with ukonline since last june, never had a problem with it, i bought my own router, took under 5 days from applying for the service to being connected, i have the 2 meg speed and it is really fast, we should be upgraded this year to 8 meg for the same price
RE: Multiregion dvd drive for Inspiron 6000
you can try new firmware, but`s finding the right one for your drive.
the best way is either dvd region free or anydvd, they are software based and will make your dvd drive play and record any region, plus they also make any dvd you play unencrypted, i have used both. anydvd on my laptop and dvd region free on my pc, and had no problems with either.
you can buy either on ebay, just look under software, costs about £10.00 for the software.

RE: Anybody recomend a decent dvd recorder
i bought a single use chipped remote on ebay for £18.00. and just followed the simple instructions and five mins later it is now region free, the company who supplies them is
www.d*******.co.uk. but if you go to ebay and look under remote controls they are about £5.00 cheaper than their website, the chipped remote works with all panasonic models.
they also do chipped remotes and update disc`s for quite a few other makes as well
RE: PACIFIC AND DURABRAND PICTURE PROBLEMS !!!
i had a picture problem with my dvd recorder, we have sky+ and a panasonic dvd recorder, the problem was due to a tetra radio aerial close by, so i removed the rf leads even though they were double screened. now no problem at all, as both the sky+ box and the dvd recoder amplify a tv signal slightly that was the problem the tetra aerial is causing more tv problems, where i live some people have had to use a aerial amplifer to improve their tv picture and it`s the amplifer that causes the problem, i spent a few hours pluging and pluging all the leads untill i solved the problem,

RE: Dell - how easy to upgrade ?
i have a dell 4500 and i have installed a extra hard drive, a dvd rewriter, new ide cables, and extra memory,
i had to have a new power supply fitted, and the guy from dell was looking at what i had done, no mention of my warrenty being void, i think if dell had sent me the power supply i could have fitted it myself and saved him a journey..

RE: It is going to be illegal to fast forward through adverts(on dvds)
perhaps it`s about time we charged the dvd company and television company`s a fee for watching their adverts, you could sit around all day and make loads of money
RE: I need an indoor aeriel for tv - any suggestions?
depends if your normal picture is ok, you can use that via a splitter box, but you can`t use two tv`s at the same time as the picture could break up. or try maplins they sell all tv aerials and splitters etc. www.maplin.co.uk
RE: Advice on new dvd writer sought...
its reasonable price. i have the same one but internal. its very good and fast, the fastest blanks i have found are 12x at www.bigpockets.co.uk they also sell burners. the speed for dual layer is 2.4 some 4x speed discs work with it at 4x speed.
