RE: 32" CRT advice
If I was you I would go for the Panny as their tv`s have very good picture quality and at that price its a bargain.
RE: Need advice on DVD-recorders (again, sorry)
Hi Karen
I recently bought a Philips DVDR80 recorder with built in Guideplus. It basically hasa built in tv guide (Guideplus) which employs a tiny transmitter to change your tv/sat decoder/freeview box to whichever programme is set to record from the tv guide menu. I have been using it for a couple of months now and it has never let me down. It shouldn`t cost more than £150 max as it has been out for a while. Also, look out for other Philips DVD recorders with Guideplus-some of their newer models incorporate it too.
RE: Sony RDRGX210S
Hi Paulgoth
I owned one of these recorders and I have to say that the RGB problem was a major issue as my tv only had RGB scart connections. There was some awful ghosting and colour bleeding when trying to watch via RGB so I took it back to where I bought it. I have heard recently that Sony are fully aware of the RGB problem and have fixed it on all new 210 machines and are offering free repairs on affected models.
RE: Philips DVDR610
pity all of the Sony RDR-GX210 models have a fault with RGB passthrough then!
RE: Philips DVDR610 troubles
Hi Graham
I am also having the same scart switching problem with my 610. If I leave my freeview box on whilst watching a DVD, the recorder will occasionally flick the tv over to freeview! Very annoying. I always switch off my freeview unit to avoid this happening.
RE: help philips 610
Update-I set a timer recording immediately after resetting the dVDR610 following the upgrade to firmware BT_22 and when I checked it an hour ago it had recorded the programme perfectly but the main improvement was that the clock was at the correct time! Hopefully this clock problem has been fixed.
RE: help philips 610
Hi
I just flashed the firmware BT1_22 to my DVDR610 as I too have been having problems with the clock leaping 30 minutes ahead. Unfortunately as soon as the update was completed the machine in to standby with the clock showing 30 minutes ahead of the actual time! I then reset the machine and once finished and went back in to standby the clock was only a couple of minutes slow!
RE: Help with setting up Philips 890
Hi Claire
How is your tv configured? Does EXT1 have RGB capability and EXT2 S-VHS?
RE: Philips DVDR880 for £252 at Powerhouse
Hi Stiggy
I did the same as you and got mine for £252 too! at Powerhouse. Unfortunately mine would not play any pre-recorded DVD`s!! I tok it back the next day and got a refund. How is yours performing?

RE: Philips 28 pw 6006 owners please look in!
Hi - I own a 32PW6506 and I have ben having a similar problem with RGB. When either I use my DVD player (Toshiba 220e) or Sky digibox I get a dark picture on RGB combined with a blue hue/tint! Endeva have already taken the tv away to repair it but it wasn`t fixed on return. Guess what? It`s going back to them on 14th June to get it sorted or the tv will be ditched.
RE: Philips Wide Screen TV`s - Please Post Your Problems Here!!!
Hi R N M
Had a Sky nomunated company out at the weekend and they tried a Pace Digibox and hey presto-perfect picture with RGB!! Doesn`t look like it`s the tv then does it?

RE: Philips Wide Screen TV`s - Please Post Your Problems Here!!!
Hi
I have been having a problem with a blue hue on my picture when selecting
RGB output from my Grundig Sky Digibox recently. This only became apparent
when I bought a Philips 32PW6506 TV. I have swapped over to a Amstrad
Digibox but it`s still the same blue hue on RGB. However, when I use a
Grundig Freeview box (1500 model) I get a perfect colour balance on RGB. Has
anyone else come across this before and if so how did you solve it?
Thanks
ps-the tv is only about 4 weeks old-bought of an online auction.
