HItachi 315 Multiregion Hack

My brothers girlfriend has just brought the above player and wants to make it multiregion. However the only players listed are the 305, 505 and the 515. Is there a 315 hack avalible?

Got mine, it took about 2 months to come but I got it eventually. Just got Charlie’s Angles in the post (£8) not bad. It is a HMV exclusive with a special case (actually just a cardboard slip with the plastic case inside) and 4 special postcards.

Not the most amazing Exclusive Edition but a good film and DVD and it is nice to have a slightly different copy to everyone else.

Had the same thing. A Bush 2002 DVD player with decoder built in. I went for the Pioneer 409rds reciever. Has Prologic decoder and 5.1 inputs with a generous 80wpc. It was £149.99 at the time but have seen it for £129.99 since. Check out What Hi-Fi mag and the ads. I got it from either hyperfi or superfi (i can not remember which one).

I have it set up with Mission 701s front, 70C1 centre and some of those Ariston £10 speakers from Richersounds for rears. Sound great.

I did order a sherwood ampo from richer sounds but when it came there were no 5.1 inputs, even though the spec in the mag said that did have. It was their mistake and they refunded the money including shipping costs.

Don`t expect to get the remote anytime soon, after working for a high street electrical retailler in 1999/2000, i found manufactures rarely send new remotes in a hurry. You may get it but the average time from order for me was about 2 months. Comet may be better but make sure you chase it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as I know it is illegal for any company to sell any movie in the Britain without BBFC approval. As R1 disks are American they will not have a BBFC approved rating and therefore it is illegal.

Play247 get away with is by being based in Jersey, which has its own laws and is therefore not included in the BBFC`s jurisdiction. Play247 are quite clever.

I have never ordered from Future Entertainment but there prices do look good. If concerned E-mail them and ask them yourself. I would be interested in the response you get so if you could post it here it would be cool.

In all reviews i have read of this machine it says it is multi-region out of the box. This means it is less likely to have a remote hack and f it does no one will be bothered to find it as it is already multi-region. I own the Bush 2002 which does have a hack (see multiregion hacks) so you may want to try this but i don`t think it will work.

I brought it from Play247 about 2 weeks after release for £17.99 and could not find it cheaper anywhere else. It was on 2 DVD 9s in a special edition case with a metal sleeve. It has also been produced as 1 DVD 18 but they switched to 2 DVD 9s because they could not produce the DVD 18s fast enough for demand when it was first released. I do not know if they are still making DVD 9s or have switched back to a DVD 18 but it makes little difference.

What I will say is this DVD rocks so it is a definite must have in any DVD collection.

Upgrade Heaven. Any Experiences?

Does anyone out there have any experience of www.upgradeheaven.co.uk?

The web site is very good with the special offers on the home page and the section clearly available in the left hand frame. They also have their top ten selling products in the right hand frame.

The prices seen competitive and are all displayed including VAT and FREE SHIPPING. This is nice, as you don`t need a calculator to work out what it will cost.

The best part of upgrade heaven is that most of there mods don`t need a replacement chip. Instead they use seem to use a similar technique to the pioneer modals to make the players multiregional. They say that this means that the manufactures guarantee is still valid.

I am interested in the Pioneer DS-NV55 (complete set) and am torn between techtronics and upgrade heaven. There is only £1 in it so the level of service is going to be the main factor. Having heard a mixed bag of opinions about Techtronics I would like to hear if upgrade heaven are any good.

RE: Videologic, 5.1 or DTS???

The DTS is great but i do not think that it is worth the extra money. DTS is better but a lot of R1 disks have cut down DTS soundtracks in which there is little difference between DD and DTS anyway.

One other (Cheaper) alternative is the creative DTT2500. Only good for small rooms but good if on a budget.

I have a Bush 2002 and although i had to apply a hack (open 77 enter) i have had no trouble at all. I do not know if the hack is the same.

Could you just tell me if the 2009 has a built in Dolby Digital decoder?
