RE: Free Newspaper DVD

I thought this was gonna be a newspaper on DVD....

but instead it`s just another crap movie :(

RE: Tevion 42" HD Ready WS Plasma TV @ Aldi - £999.99

I think all of these have problems with blacking out when connected via SCART lead.

AVForums has a thread on this issue.

RE: Pure - The Bug Stereo DAB £79.99 inc Postage

Well, I got mine yesterday.

The standby display brightness is adjustable, and on the lowest setting it is a very dull glow, and can even be set to off.

I guess people here have either not read the instructions or don`t own a Bug !

RE: Pure - The Bug Stereo DAB £79.99 inc Postage

Nice review hamid :D

When you consider that the new Pure 3 XT does the same job for £199, then you really appreciate that this Bug is a real bargain.

I have mine on order. I already have a DAB radio, but I wanted one with a sleep timer and alarm which this one has :D

Definitely a bargain :D
I ordered a 1GB Viking SD card from Ebuyer for £17.99, so I can record all my favourite programs.

RE: Reminder: last day for the Dell laptop bargains

Quote:
Looks like it has gone.

The N02135a is now £448 after you drop service to 90 day C&R.

The N02136 will give same spec (with 1.6GHz Celeron) for £419

Any better offers anyone? Who knows what next week will bring?

The £299 laptop was never available online. you have to phone up Dell, and say you want the Inspiron 1300 laptop in the newspaper for £299

RE: PAYPAL FREE POSTAGE EBAY MAX 2.50 DISCOUNT

You have to spend £10 minimum to get this offer.

Maybe it only works for people that got the email ?

RE: Philips DVD Recorder - £129.99 @ Sainsburys

I have a Philips DVDR610 and it is far better than any Panasonic machine.

For a start it does not use those DVD-RAM discs which cannot be used in any other DVD player :D

The only thing i wish for is a hard disk recorder, as I now think any DVD only recorder is a waste of money.

A combined DVD/HDD recorder is the future until Blueray comes along.

Did the DVD recoder from the Co-op have i-link inputs, I have looked on ebuyer web site and the spec said it has i-link and firewire

The answer to your question has already been answered on Page 2.

There is no firewire/DVI/I-link inputs.

The Co-op recorder is a lower spec than the Ebuyer model, hence the price difference :D

RE: Cello DVD recorder £49.99 in Co-op

Where is your Co-op ?

The Co-op is NOT a nationwide store despite the stores being all over the UK.

I expect this offer is only available in a small region and a handfull of stores at the most.

I have no idea what these things should cost but Tesco have them for just under £15

Well, If you have no idea how much they should cost...why post it as a bargain?

They might only sell for £4.99 at any other shop

RE: Personal DAB radio

This DAB radio is only available in one store in Scotland...if you actually read the MSE post.

The CO-OP is not a national store.

There are many CO-OP`s and they are all different according to region.

RE: High quality Acoustic Research scart leads - 80 % 0ff

What are the channel numbers for GU47 area? please.
Thanks.

The BBC Multiplex is on :-

Hannington 50
Crystal Palace 25

It seems you are in a poor reception area, as aerial recommendations are for Amplified extra hi-gain aerial.

RE: Freeview box need amped arial .. info needed please

Here are the channels to search for the BBC Multiplex

Sutton Coldfield 41
The Wrekin (E) 39
The Wrekin (W) 21

You need to put your Freeview receiver into manual search mode and select the channel numbers given above. They are listed in order of strength you should receive signal.

Move your aerial to get best signal.

If you do not get a signal you will need outdoor aerial.

Also try Freeview receiver in a different room that will be facing the transmitter. So try in nearest side of house to Sutton Coldfield for example.

RE: Freeview box need amped arial .. info needed please

It would help if the original poster told us where he/she lives, then we could look up the nearest digital transmitter, and get the channel numbers to try getting a signal on.

RE: Freeview box need amped arial .. info needed please

You need an outside aerial by the sound of it.

If you get no signal, then an amplified aerial is just going to amplify nothing.

You at least need to get a signal before you think about amplifiers.

You cannot amplify nothing.

RE: Grundig digital satellite box code

Does it not tell you in the instruction manual ?

The codes for all Sky boxes are the same, no matter what make it is.

You were probably looking at a USA web site, as they don`t use them over there.

RE: REESTIT MUTTON

Why do people keep saying he`s back when he has not posted on here for over a month ?

RM is not back !

People should check the date of posts they read before jumping to conclusions.

Also, this forum is only for posting bargains, and not for idle chit chat !

Whats the difference ??

There is no difference !!

I understand that some Pioneer recorders can playback and record at the same time using -R/RW, but apart from that it is down to personal preference.

I prefer +R/RW myself and have a Philips DVDR610

RE: need advice re a VIDEO TAPE recorder !!!

An S-VHS Video recorder will not play back plain VHS tapes any better, unless it is a better quality machine of course.

S-VHS machines will only make a difference on recording.

I have a JVC HR-S6855 S-VHS Recorder which will also record to normal VHS tapes in `pseudo-SVHS` to make it a better recording on normal tape, not that I ever record on it these days.;). I only paid about £80 for this machine about 2 years ago and not used it much.
