I don`t mind trying it, but I don`t mind buying the chip either - it`s just convenience I suppose.

Does anyone else have hacks for this player so that I can compare?

Just to gain confidence in the Internet, before I cut wires in my DVD player and invalidate the warranty!!

I have a URL that clearly details how to make it multi-region, and it seems quite straight forward: a simple cut of a wire and a quick password and there we go!

I just want to hear it from more than one source before I try.
