Hi flip 64 I also have the E85 but with out the problem you are having .When you say the list of things you are transferring ,are dividing titles because some E85 had a software problem and would lock up ,but as I say this was only certain machines mine was one of them but panasonic just put a software disk and updated and its been fine.My advice give panasonic a ring on 08705 357357. :)

:) Hi sj let us know how you like your new H60d I think your the first person to get one also how much did you get it for.I have the E85 which has not played up once in all the time and disk,s that it has made. How ever the h60D gos that little bit bettter and I;am looking at one myself.

HI all thats funny when I phoned panasonic they told me not to go above 4x speed disc in the e85 as it would damage the player.

Hi can anyone tell what speed disks this machine will work with ie 4x 8x 16x speed .my panasonic dmr85 will only work up to 4x speed.And it seems harder to find 4 speed disks as time gos on.

:) HI wad today I have seen the 32ld7200 runing on dvd only, well the pictures were just the best i ve seen yet on a lcd. But the man in the shop was saying not so good on analogue but no lcd,s are.If I go down this road I will be using analogue/ sky most of the time with the odd dvd.How do you compare your lcd on analogue/sky feeds to your old crt tv.

:) yes this set looks good but my local comet got just one unit in they went to plug it in and the set was dead.(not so good) It will take them about two weeks to replace it????? have you seen one running yet.

:o Hi I have not had this on my e85. if the unit is not playing any disc or recording it sounds like you head/lens is dirty get a DVD-RAM/PD lens cleaner.Also make sure you only use 4 x speed disc`s on this player.Try turning the mains off at the wall and back on I don`t think it will do anything but give it a go. :¦ :¦ :¦

Whats the best way to wire up kit?

Hi what is the best way to cable up so much kit?
I have dvd recorder,vcr,sat,tv. my problem is all works well apart from I cannot record tv and then watch sat? it will not pass sat though to TV.
RF gos to dvd and vcr then up to tv.
21pin scart from sat to dvd
21pin scart from sat vcr
21 pin scart from dvd to tv.
I am sure my problem is in the way I have cable it up.
any help folks!!!!!!!

Panasonic e85 question

Hi can any one tell me with the panasonic how do you get it to pass a satllite signal though when its recording tv?.when the unit is recording from its own tuner it will not pass satllite on to the TV. :/ :/ is there a way around this,or is it to do with the way it is wired up.

Hi panasonic have been giving me all sorts of bad info on which ones are not up to date.But the last phone call I was told all units with the letters after the 4 from BA to SA would need a fareware update.However all units work fine as my is still doing its just when you go to divide a title on the hardive it will lock up.,but must people might never use this part of the machine.hope this is of help.

Hi Scott back again I have been on the phone to panasonic again today to try and confirm about my ser-number a good one or a bad one .Guess what they told me that my unit should be ok . :/ :/ :/ But this did not tie up with the day before.So fine my unit should be ok, until I read your return message because I got my unit from the same suppler as you but a good 8 weeks before you .so something does not tie up here ,it makes my unit earlier then yours.I will e-mail panasonic to see what they come back with ,I don;t really what to lock up my machine if I can help it.but at the same time we all need our new toys to be right :( :( :( .

Hi scott I have got to the bottom of your problem all panasonic e85 with the serial numbers like this HR4CB001784 its the letter after the first no4 which will tell you if you have a bad one.Well bad is not the word I am looking for any way after the 4 you need to have the letter F and above to be safe.my one is C (rats) we will need a software update to over come it.But like you say it will not be mulit-reg when it comes back.They asked you to take the labels of becasue if panasonic find that it has had the mod they will not touch it.I don`t want I am going to do iI will talk to the suppler but I think we will all get the run around ,as I say the unit is fine until you try to divide a title on the hard drive. I dont think they should give you a refurbish unit ,the bad side you will lose what you had on the hard drive .I dont think that digtal point could fix it any way they need the software.!!!!!

Hi can any one give me some help with my internet explorer icon.(on my desk top)you can click on two or three times but it will not open.How ever it seems to record the number of times you click on it because when you open outlook express from its icon which works fine ,you get that number of internet pages open up.something seems to be blocking it.(system win 98 /zone alarm/mcafree/etc
any help would be great.

thanks for your report how are you finding the E85.
I understand what your saying about XP etc ..But what I,am trying to say is ,is it worth recording 2hrs of XP mode to the hard drive and then setting FR to fit it on to a dvd-r disc,OR record 2hrs of SP to dvd-r disc will the quality be any better becasue the xp source to sart with was better,I know it will not be xp but will it be better then sp mode.

PANASONIC E85 QUERY

:/ I have now got one of these machine`s and have started playing with it which is taking time.The manual is not the best I,ve seen, my question is on the record mode If you were to record a film to the hard disc in XF top mode and the film is 2hrs.30mins long. You then wish to transfer it to disc( I know you cannot have it have in xp on the disc because there is not space ) so if you set FR record mode will this then fit it on ,and will be any better then if I had recorded it in FR mode to start with.One other thing I have notice is when record a film thought a input to the hard drive when wacting the film back you can not skip forward??? works with dvd,s

hi scott thanks for your info about the e85 thinking of getting one soon.Its funning when you say you don`t know why any body would want LP mode what about 3hr film and you wish to put it on to disk to keep it.What about your flexible recording mode 8) .

Hi Trentculp thanks for your reply .So to sum up LP mode which is up to 4hrs surely its not that bad.By the way is there any chance of a dvd-r disk with 5/10 mins of recording in LP/mode so I can view it at this end.I will of course pay you .If not i will just have to go buy and try.

HI trentculp I was looking at some mags today,and one had a part about 100 top dogs and the toshiba rd-xs30 come out as a all round good recorder/it also said it made good recordings in low modes. In two mags the E55 got 5stars as good as it gets for the money i was off to get one when i read your message ,but you put me off.Now i don`t know which way to go.I was going to ask you to send me a copy of 3hr recording from the e55 to see what it looked like at this end on a dvd-r disk (which i would pay you for +p/p)etc Its a job to kown what to do. :( :( :(
