RE: [VIDEO] RE:RE: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary

Fantastic.

It was a shame that Paul Mcgann only got one chance at it. Let the older Doctors have some minisodes if they want, they do it on the audiotapes.

Full name for me.

RE: Unsolicited Pr0n Scam

I got the same yesterday, mind you not really in the dog house at home, but they turned up at my work address - luckily the boss was understanding and asked if they were any good and could he have a copy.

RE: Disney to buy Lucasfilm

Given the past history of George Lucas, Disney need to be careful he has made a lot of money out of this but it probably wont try and stop him trying to tweek the contract every couple of years wth a Special Edition contract, a 40th anniversary version contract, and a special who signed the contract first version.

P.S. the video of George and Kathleen Kennedy is a worry. Old Kathleen, couldn`t answer or say anything without looking at George for support and concern that she isn`t saying the right thing to the interviewer. She is the biggest worry for me, i think you can tell she has no idea and is a bigger and worse puppet than Yoda was in the Phantom Menace (originally).

RE: Disney to buy Lucasfilm

I have to say I am quite looking forward to this. The Thrawn Trilogy would be great, but I wouldn`t mind seeing a ghost Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi stylie. Harrison Ford probably wouldn`t want to touch it with a barge pole, but I think he said that about Indy.

Plus, and I may be fooling myself, I can`t see the originals being played about with anymore. George Lucas says that he is selling it for a new generation, now they can leave our belovered generations versions alone.

RE: Apple ITunes Match

Guys,

I have iTunes Match and I believe that the tracks that can`t be matched by iTunes count towards your 25,000 track limit. So the majority of your collection wouldn`t need to go into the cloud as they already hold the tracks on their servers.

Also, whilst you can`t stream to the iPod and iPad, you can stream it to a PC or via Apple TV.

RE: [VIDEO] Star Wars... Anime style

That is fantastic. Perhaps GL could do the Timothy Zahn books like this and make the final 3 episodes like that.

Also am I missing something, is this a sampler or something that is in production that we haven`t seen yet?

All the best

RE: Any Retro Gamer magazine fans here?

It`s my guilty pleasure,
I subscribe to it, and have done for a couple of years now. It is up to issue 105.

I like the majority of the last 20 odd issues with some real corkers, however some are a little hit and miss. I feel that the best has already been looked at but I still think it is worth it. I do look forward to it coming through the post and some can have you reading for a fair bit of time but some you can flick through.

They do cd`s with old full issues on it which are quite good at about a tenner for 25 odd back issues on it.

RE: The Voice UK

I can`t be arsed with this show. The premise sounded fine - they will judge you on your voice alone. Not bad except that in week 2 Jessie J says something like "I didn`t pick you because I thought you were much older". So they won`t judge you on looks but they will judge you on age.

Now they are in some sort of boxing ring and now we are back to the same old format of them choosing who to put through - strange enough none of the last 20 are ugly and now comes down to who has the best image.

They should have done the revolving chair thing (they just need bald caps and a cat and they can claim to want to take over the world) and given their choices to the X-factor judges.

Dreadful dreadful dreadful.

RE: Kenwood dishwasher NOT Kenwood?

I got a dishwasher in a kitchen set from MFI ten years ago and it was one of their own brands (Diplomat???) . I had the kitchen redone last year and thought we would spash out a bit on a more
upmarket one as the old one was constanly being repaired. So I bought a Smeg one on line so didn`t look inside - Well blow me down if it`s not the same bloody machine.

Also many years ago I bought a Matsui Video player for about £75. For some reason I took it round to my mums house who had just bought a £400 Akai player - turned our to be thesame player and the controls worked for both machines.

RE: Deathly Hallows I & IIAnticipation Thread

I saw it last night and had to say on first viewing it was superb.

My only disapointement was the `19 years later` bit. I was kind of looking forward to that bit to get a sence of the future, however what we got was bloody awful wigs (especially Ginny`s one). and no ones real attempt to make them look 19 years older. I am not one for liking the over use of CGI, but come on, something would have looked better than the `quick lets see what we can find in the costume cupboard` look.

RE: Arcade fans? (MAME specifically)

Guys,

Please help me. I love the old classics and I hear about MAME and I would love to get into it, - would love to build a cabinet, but I dont really understand about emulators nor how i would go about building the cabinet.

If anybody has the time could they let me know an idiots guide to getting started.

Your help is very much appreciated.

RE: Something guaranteed to make you smile...

One of the best noises in life - bloody fantastic.

R.I.P. Irvin Kershner

What a day! First Leslie Neilson and now Irvin Kershner.

I have to say that The Empire Strikes Back was the best of all the six movies.

Both Naked Gun and ESB are definatly part of my growing up.

If you look at the Movies 4 men type channels on Sky, they are showing Christmas movies throughout July.

RE: Boosting Wifi Signal

Sue,

Thanks for this, I shall have a good old read when I get home. The only problem I have with a Sky router is that you can`t change it, you have to stick with the one that Sky supply. The others look like reasonable options.

Boosting Wifi Signal

Guys,

Just had a Summerhouse put in at the bottom of the garden and put a Tower PC in there. Whilst I can take my lap top in there and it works very well with strong wifi signal. When it comes to the PC, its incredibly hit and miss. when it can get it it works well, beit with a weaker signal, bit most of the time it wont even see the router or it recognises the router as having a ok signal but doesn`t go any further than that.

My router`s supplied by Sky (grey one that looks like a sky hd box) so not additional ariels to fiddle with and my wifi dongle is supplied by Belkin at `N` settings (whatever that means).

Any ideas what I need to do and why it is so hit and miss?

Many thanks in advance

Just wondering what a certain Tele logo means

Guys,

Stupid question - but when the likes of BBC show images of sport events from Sky, there alway appears to be a logo of what looks like a pint glass on the screen - somestime full sometimes empty.

What does it mean?

Amercian Version of Watchmen, Digital copies and Itunes

Guys,

Thought I would be smart and I bought the american version of Watchmen, (the Directors cut - no less).

It comes with a digital copy. The code is for the states only, I tried to set up a US Itunes account but it wont accept my credit card as it based in the UK. I tricked the address by living in Beverly Hills (only Zip code I know - don`t know why :-)).

Any way around it?

PS3 & Xbox 360 games for £5

Guys,

Went in to Asda in Dagenham and picked up Pro Evo 2009, Tomb Raider & Sonic Tennis for a fiver each. The sale shelf was next to the same games at five times the price.

They had a couple of wrestling games, and Abba Singstar - all for a fiver. Also noticed a double pack of Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones on the 360 for a fiver.

Not sure if all branches are the same.
