Page 1 of [VIDEO] The Expanse (SyFy)
Television Forum
I know, I know, SyFy channel does awful cheap, badly written, badly directed and badly acted Scifi better than anyone else, but somehow they've managed to produce something interesting, complicated and expensive looking!
Sorry if someone has mentioned it already, searched the forums with no recent results.
Just seen episode 1, miss the odd part of the dialog sometimes, but it was very intruiging. This is not their usual fodder! It's Babylon 5 in scale, based on a series of books apparently.

Looks as though they have put a bit of money into this one.
RE: [VIDEO] The Expanse (SyFy)
I'm several seasons in but haven't watched for quite a while so I've forgotten where I'm up to... and there's a hell of a lot of it. I didn't really know what was going on half the time but enjoyed it.
Are the 'Belters' still doing their dodgy 'Jamaican' accents?

The accents are one of the best things about it...

Got through a couple or three episodes of series one and kinda stopped.
Keep meaning to go back to it but I didn't really give a toss about any of the characters.

I think it's hard in the first few episodes to get to like them because a bunch of people got killed off quickly and you start to wonder who the leads are, also the whole space-political situation isn't clear, everything appears to be disconnected stories...
...but then it starts to come together.

Given how hard I found it to get into Wandavision I'm wondering if I'm being conditioned into having a shorter attention span than ten or fifteen years ago before a social media world of two and three minute clips.
Is anyone else finding this or now that shows can go on forever and episode lengths are flexible on streaming services are they taking longer to tell their stories and not editing as tightly as they used to.

Yes. A good way of making an epic series is to make it really long and convoluted - cos that's what epic is, right?
Watched the whole of "9 Perfect Strangers" waiting for something to happen. NOTHING f***IN' HAPPENED.
