RE: dvd recorder at asda

Tried StHelens for one of these, non in stock. Any one know of any Asda`s in Cheshire/Merseyside area that has them in stock?

Hope it`s not a regional thing!

Cheers, Surfnlurk

RE: B&Q:Cordless Hammer Drill-£20

The Screwfix (Ferm) and the Makro (NuTool) are the same tool (slightly different colour) with different badges. Comes with driver bits and some naff drill bits.

Screwfix (Ferm) has 3yr warranty. (£39.99 + £5.95 p+p)

Makro (NuTool) has 2yr warranty.(£23.50)

You could buy 2 NuTool`s from Makro and throw one away when it goes wrong.
Or just save your money and buy one Gambling it would last 3yrs anyway if it`s the same drill.

Incidentally, Maplins also have a version of it for £50!

RE: Cheap USB Flash Drives??

Got mine from Amazon. USB 2.0 128mb £26.99 after initial £3 off for new customer ;) . Just checked and it`s now down to £24.99. You might still get £3 off if your a new customer or you empty your cookies and create new account with them. They also have a 32mb one for £14.19. Might be wise to stick something else in your basket to get you over £25 mark to get free p&p.

You could just subscribe to PCW magazine and get three mags for 3p and a 32mb flash drive for free. Just cancel direct debit when your hree mags arrive.

Belkin F5D5050 USB/Ethernet adapter £13.86 for Netgem owners

Just orderered the above item through ryanair online link to Dixons. Some of the recent Makro Netgem purchasers might be interested as this can cost average £25.

Ryanair pay for the postage then you add the Dixons/sun alliance code to get a further 7.5% discount. ;)

Yes I know it`s Dixons but I`m going to give them a chance as even if I get charged P&P it still only comes to about £19 which is cheaper than most.

http://www.ryanaironlineshop.com/

discount code:DCBYAW

Haven`t tried it but free P&P is supposed to work through all links on the ryanair site.

I`ve already had two emails from Dixons saying the order is being processed and shipped. Fingers crossed!

RE: 15% off Mailwasher Pro

I get loads of spam each day, a lot of it offensive in content or nature. I`d really like to know who told all these people I need viagra and penis enlargement medication.(Will have to keep an eye on the wife`s p.c. usage!).

Anyway, I`ve recently taken to clicking on them and ordering stuff on false card numbers and addresses - just to waste some of their time, as they do with mine. I also contact them with silly questions, giving them mailinator addresses for replies.

I`m also starting to look at mail bombing software for those that give any valid email address. Used this before with some guy in China that ripped us off. They don`t like it when the boots on the other foot. Have to make sure you send from a temporary email address or you get mail bombed yourself.

There now, I feel better already!

RE: Cracking Mobile Phone Deal

Nice spot raeble. Though I usually stay away from contract offers. :)

Sounds like a great deal, but what do you get for your £15/month after first four months.
If you get no air time or text allowance does the deal look so great. :/

A bit more investigation required before jumping in on this one, though I suspect it would still be pretty good.

Direct link to the deal.

RE: £50 cashback on a new Samsung

Quote:
P.s., the bloke also said the A800 wasn`t up to much, they apparently get loads of calls from people having problems with it??

Bought A800 for the wife about 9 months, no problems what so ever.

Sexy phone, great reception etc.

T9 function a bit of a pain but would definately recommend the phone.

I`d have one myself but it`s abit too small for my fingers!

RE: £50 cashback on a new Samsung

Anyone tried to price match the C100 phone anywhere. Not being a virgin customer puts me at a £10 disadvantage. Trying to get The Link to match the virgin deal (ie £10 airtime voucher) as well as doing £10 trade in. Very slow replying to email. :(

That would make it £80(phone)-£50(voucher)-£10(trade-in)-£10(airtime voucher)-£5(on sim)=£5 for phone. 8)

Might be expecting too much! :/

Had to ring the Link in the end. Unfortunately they know as much on the phone line as they do in the shops. Robot response. Bought one from Virgin web site, to arrive Saturday hopefully. Will end up costing equivalent of £15 but a bargain non the less.

Definetly worth a look.

Philips DTR1500 Freeview Box £67

Philips freeview boxes are £100 at most retailers (Currys, Comet, Dixons etc).

Amazon are selling them at £77, delivered. Extra £3 off voucher if your a new customer.

However, if you print the page and take it to your local Richer Sounds they price match it and beat it by a tenner. Giving you a very nice box at a bargain price of £67 ;)

Check availability before you go and get them to reserve it for you. They are notorious for not having stock !

Its a £100 in Richer Sounds too, but they smile and are very polite about it. Guy that served me was hacked off as he had just bought 2 panasonics for family at £90 each.
Said he would change them to better Philips box if they`d had any left
