RE: Want to fight?

(sorry, can`t resist a play on words...)

ahem... Put up your dukes!

(see, princess, dukes, the whole royalty thing... it`s a matter of princey pal`s.)

*gets coat*

Phil

sorry eggman dude...

went and pciked the wrong tictacs - maybe its alcohols fault, may be the buttoms are too close together... Either way, I can`t type pro[er;y... therefore it`s not my fault... don`t ask, please just accept it... :)

RE: PhilPhrenzy - Sorry Sorry Sorry

<Michael Fish>Meanwhile, here in the East Anglia region, we are basking in sun, with a few minor clouds in the sky. The five day forecast shows that rain will follow, the next time I plan to wash my car.

Now back to the fight...</Michael Fish>

RE: PhilPhrenzy - Sorry Sorry Sorry

Depends whether it`s just as warm tomorrow :)

Edit: I mean, today...

RE: PhilPhrenzy - Sorry Sorry Sorry

Ah, no probs. Ironically I lasted more round in that fight than I did in the rematch when you clicked the right button... :)

RE: POLL: im back. guess who won the tournament

In Soviet Russia, the tournament wins you! Is there any reason why I can`t vote, and all entries say NaN% anyone?

I`ll say Russia, on the basis that my new grem will crush me if I don`t...

Phil.

P.S. Welcome back!

It`s nice to see a close melee again...

Seemed like ages ago since I`ve been involved in a close scrap between rivals, but nice to see that there`s not much difference between myself, Thud, Haricot and Percy`s Auntie, despite the small number of gremlins in the league too...

Phil.

RE: 3 week break

Alright for some! Guess we`ll have to make-do with this sunny British weather instead... :P Anyhow, have fun, and if you`re taking part, good luck and show those aussies what Brits are made of... :)

RE: how many days

Gremlins are born with a random life span (between 21 and 28 days I think) and Sparrow probably got lucky and got a longer life span than everyone else.... git! :P

Phil.

RE: how many days

I bought 2 or 3 days at the beginning, but wish I hadn`t. Buying extra days doesn`t seem like the investment it used to be - if my grem outlives all the others, I`d be at the top of the table rotting away, getting a few measly points from newborn grems. At the moment, my grem`s league position is mediocre because of the extra days...

Having said that, I think my grem`s life was quite short before I bought the days.

RE: POLL: where have all the gremlins come from

where have all the gremlins come from?

Alternate answer:
Well, you see - when a mummy gremlin and a daddy gremlin love each other so much, they errrr.... have this special cuddle, and errrrr.... oh, go ask your mother!

RE: POLL: where have all the gremlins come from

I reckon they were generated by a couple of HTML / ASP scripts, which were completed and submitted by a select number of internet users. The scripts then probably stores the data in some sort of backend database server - possibly SQL Server or mySQL... The web hosting server then pulls the data back to create the gremlin and all of its stats.

However, I couldn`t see that answer, so I reckon the Timmy Mallett one is the nearest match...

RE: POLL: Where have all the gremlins gone

Had a similar situation with God of da shrine... 1st and 2nd fight. How queer. Where`s me washboard?

Phil.

RE: POLL: Where have all the gremlins gone

My last grem died last night. Wasn`t going to create a new grem straight away, but you guys have convinced me otherwise....

Phil - back in the melee

RE: POLL: Where have all the gremlins gone

If I was a grem, I would be watching Dangermouse... He`s a little bit shifty, what with the eye patch, living in a london letterbox, having rodents as best friends and sounding like Delboy from Only Fools and Horses... If that ain`t shifty, I don`t know what is!

Phil.

RE: Thats me done

Dang, was hoping that DJ Sylvester Smythe will be able to kick in your new grem. Ah well, hope you`re back soonish for my next gen grem...

On another note - I`ve got 4 spare challenges. The first four people to reply to this thread can have one :P

Phil.

RE: im board chalange me

Challenge issued - I`m hoping for my 2nd win out of 150 matches.

(yes, I know - I lost to 2 of the 3 training gremlins. I was robbed!)

Phil.

I have considered this, although they`d have to live and die like any other, and I`d need some sort of naming convention.

I like the sounds of that - especially as grems are a bit thin on the ground at the moment, and climbing the league with an evenly-matched nemesis doesn`t happen too often. Perhaps they could spend their XP just before the league table update, and perhaps create a formula to randomly split their day`s XP into the 3 attributes. Perhaps they choose random tactics on every fight, and challenge 10 grems at random? (there`s a lot of randoms here... :/)

Could call them "Grembots" - like Fembots, only fluffier and with bigger eyes. Or just give them regular names, and let us guess which ones are the bots and which are the noob`s. :P

RE: Gremlin Graveyard

Robocop is no more... He went on a drinking binge, and instead of drinking unleaded, he was drinking diesel. He felt really ill the next morning, so I took him to Kwik Fit, who said "thhhhhhh...." It was safe to say that Robocop was beyond repair, so I done what any devoted mechanoid owner would do - I dumped him in a ditch just south of Peterborough.

In his peak, he was #1 in the regular league for some time. He`s also my 2nd best ever grem, sneaking past Teh L33t Haxx0r and Olivia Elton John - not quite topping Mr Spoon though. However, may he rust in pieces.

My new grem, DJ Sylvester Spinmaster Smythe is fresh from the DJing circuit (for kids/nutters/OAP`s), and is looking for a fight. Go kick him in for promoting the tripe that tarnishes the name of "pop". You know you wanna...

Phil.

Apologies to Sminty...

Unfortunately, I`ve been drinking tonight, and while I can hit the right keys while typing this post (after a couple of attempts) I can`t seen to hit "No Tactics" instead of "hit Harder."

Soz about that...

Phil.,

Edit: on another note, I`ll be off to London at 11:00 tomorrow morning, so if you want to challenge me (or accept a challenge from me) I`d appreciate it a lot if you could get the challenges in before I go... I was somewhat hoping that Robocop would be dead by now, but que cera cera....

Kudos to Training Gremlin 4...

...you had me fooled! Thought RJS invented a grem that challenges other grems at random or something (even went as far as checking the news page :P)

I heard on another forum that the word "gullible" has been removed from the dictionary. Can anyone confirm this?

Phil.

RE: STRATUS going into hiding for a few days

He couldn`t beer to leave us, so de-cider-ed to stay in spirit...

I`m sure he`ll smirn off soon. :P

I hope you`re not coming down with bird flu - that last post didn`t sound too chirpy...

New daily routine - one unlucky grem undeservedly gets Hit Harder (a.k.a. Sorry again)

The apology goes out to the Mini Master this time, went and used Hit harder by accident. Sorry about that... That`s what happens when I use tabbed browsing in a hurry...

If I do that again to anyone, I`ll just add the apology to this thread.

Phil.

Soz goes out to the Imp master...

I went and clicked on the wrong button and knocked your block off. Sorry, please don`t get your grem to curse me with its imp-like magical powers and turn me into a three-legged catepillar or something...*

Phil.

* is somewhat ill-informed about imps and their lifestyle

RE: Two free challenges up for grabs...

Challenges duly issued - hopefully you`ll get a punch in, and good luck!

Phil.

Two free challenges up for grabs...

Been a while since anyone`s done this, so thought it was time for a go...

First two grem owners to reply to this thread will receive a challenge off me for absolutely nowt!!* Robocop`s about mid-table, so might be useful for most than none...

edit: forgot to mention - if you reply after 10pm tomorrow, then you`ve probably missed the boat, so get your request in early folks!

`night,

Phil.

* internet connection and administration charges do not apply. When I say "nowt", i mean, it won`t cost me anything... E&OE

`bout time I changed my sig again methinks...

RE: Gremlin Graveyard

"Oh No", said Mrs Spoon. "Mr. Spoon the Cartoon Loon is deaded!"

Yes, it`s true kids! Mr. Spoon - currently the 9th bestest grem ever - was tragically eaten by the big bad dishwasher, never to be seen again... He leaves his loving wife and kids, and his friends - Gougy the fork, Stabby the knife and the Great cheese grater.

Despite being bent out of shape as a pensioner, he lead an action packed 43 day knife. You could say he helped make the cake, as well as eat it! Often stirred up, he ladle his life on the line, wooden back down from a challenge and metal his foes with great forkce. He had a few foods with other grems, but dinner-t refuse a single challenge or dessert his friends.

Spooner or grater, he`d become rusty. Some say he was "washed up" near the end of his career, others would say that his career was sparking to the end - however you look at it, he was a cutlery above the rest.

Phil.

P.S. I`m off on holiday next Monday, so I won`t bother making a new grem until I come back late March... Toodles for now...

Apologies to Wezbo and his bogey pants...

...there I am, ranting about using Hit Harder only for grem`s much larger than you, only to choose Hit Harder to kick two bits of snot out of your grem... Sorry. I went and clicked the wrong button again...

Must concerntrate harder!

Phil.

RE: A big thank you to Phil Phrenzy..................

...and thank you for your challenges too. Your challenges contribute to half of my regular challenges received. T`was only a few days ago where I`d have a quick look at lunchtime and find all 7 challenges taken up.

I reckon comparitively high strength is a turn-off, as my decline happened shortly after I upped my strength from 1111 to 2222. Admittedly, I can be fussy in choosing grems with higher strength above me, so not in much position to complain...

Quote:
but if everyone elses tactic is to ignore the top dogs then I might as well play along.

Is that an indication that these aren`t your last grems just yet, or have I misinterpreted?

Phil.

P.S. Real Ale Monster uses tactics suitable to the opponent, and rarely Hits Harder.
P.P.S. While I`m here, sorry to Alan T for using Hit Harder earlier.
