In terms of what to buy thats an impossible question.

However your amp if it does not have a built dolby digital or DTS decoder it will not give you five channel surround. Dolby pro logic is i think only two channel surround. If you dont want to buy a new amp you will have to buy a player with a built in decoder. Dont worry about DTS there are no discs to that actually support it in region two.

if you want a good player with a built in decoder try the LG 3550 from techtronics they can also hack it before you buy it. Hope this helps, Steve

The reason is that most discs now are dual layer. This means there is effectively two sides of information on one. the laser refocuses itself when the first layer comes to an end and reads the second hence you can have double the information on one side. You can sometimes tell when the disc changes layer because there is often a split second pause.

My advice is check on the back of the box to avoid flippers. It will say either dual layer format or two sided format.

Just three words of advice to give here TAKE IT BACK. I made the same mistake of Buying the Bush version which is identical. Yuor lucky that you got it from Argos they`ll give you your money back no questions. Then invest another £30 0r £50 and buy somehting decent. Steve

I too made the mistake of going to Argos to buy what i thought woul be an alba player but i got a bush instead. I didnt bother until i found that it was crap.

It failed to load a couple of times. Pausing the bloody thing caused the piucture to fall out of sync with the audio.Took it back full refund got a LG 3200 E and now i`m happy Cheers Steve H

Hi Ben,

I`ve just bought the LG you are looking at after having has to return a faulty Bush player i bought from Argos for £150.

I would advise against buying the Cyberhome. Spending that little on a player is asking for trouble. Spend the extra its worth it in the long run. I`ve been very impressed with the LG. The extra £30 i invested in a player from taking the Bush back made all the difference.

As for regional coding i wouldn` t really worry about it. How many region 1 titles are really likely to come accross? If i was you i`d just wait that bit longer for region 2 release.Besides a hack for the LG is bound to come along.

So my advise would be avoid the Cyberhome like the plague it may look like a good deal now but you may pay for it in the long run.
