Looking for a case for my DS lite, preferably one I don`t have to take it out of to play.

I was just hoping someone had one of these cases and could tell me if they`re any good, and if they fit well.

Is your anti virus up to date? What do you use to remove spyware? Do you clear your internet history/cach/temp files? All reasons your PC may be running slowly and why some programs may not be responding.

The reccomended programs (CCleaner, Ad Aware) are great products I`ve used for years and recommended to a lot of friends. AVG is great too.

Anti viruses and spyware removers are different types of things that you need seperate programs to take care of.

I use NOD32 anti virus and run both Ad Aware and AVG regularly to check for spyware. Use CCleaner regularly too, to get rid of the crap and neither my desktop or my laptop have ever had the problem of running slowly.

Game trade ins

Wondering if anyone has any idea how much game offer on the original nintendo DS? I`m thinking about trading my original DS in and a Game boy advance SP for a DS Lite and am just wondering how much cash I`ll need on top?

I`ve spent weeks trying to get around it for her but it never goes above 22kbs on torrents. It`s a pity really as it would save me a bundle but I`m not prepared to leave a uncapped, unlimited service for one with restrictions. Although for the price it is very tempting. Guess I`ll just wait till more info is around.

I emailed sky a few weeks back and asked about the fair usage policy on the 16mb package, got a really vague answer back stating "The fair usage policy will be in place on the 16mb line", replied starting I was aware of that but could they tell me the terms and conditions of the policy, got another reply saying `all out internet packages will be subject to this policy` I called them to ask and was fobbed off.

A friend is on pipex and they have a fair usage policy, downloads are unlimited but they cap p2p and torrent speed to 20kps. I asked sky if they would be doing the same and they said they couldn`t tell me.

So does anyone know the terms of the fair usage policy?

They`re easily unlocked. Strangely I just this second unlocked my nieces for her, it was on t-moble too. I just posted over at MSE (they have a threat in the phones board) asking for the unlock code. I don`t understand the calculators and always end up with the wrong code. I`m sure someone will help you with the code if you asked though.

Which Nokia/Samsung Phone?

I know it`s probably been asked a million times but my upgrade is due and I have no idea what phone to get. I`d like a Nokia or samsung as I`ve never had a problem with them, always found them reliable and easy to use. I don`t want a smart phone as I currently have one and am sick of it.

So all I want is a good phone with a big screen. (Having had the 3230 I don`t want to go back to a 6230 type phone with a tiny screen.).

I like the 6280 but I`ve read that it has a lot of problems. Does anyone have it? Have you had problems with it?

So can anyone suggest anything?

Nintendo GB Advance SP or DS?

Hoping someone can enlighten me here. Nephew is after one of the above for Christmas and I was wondering what extra things he`ll be able to do with the DS that makes it worth shelling out the extra cash?

Never been into games at all so I truly have no clue.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I did the exact same thing. Press default on the bottom row of buttons. Returns everything to, yes you`ve guessed it, the default settings :) .

Thanks for the sarcasm. It`s greatly apreciated. Especially when all i`m looking for is a little advice.

Just because I`m not going to be utilising it to its full capacity doesn`t mean I shouldn`t have one. You don`t have to be a gamer to want a top of the range PC. I don`t want it just because it sounds better, I` trying to improve my PC, but I have a budget.

I wouldn`t even know where to start with that. With me not being a gamer i`ve never taken an interest in graphics cards. I`m only getting it because I can, I have a bit of money to waste and I`d like a 256 card. So there`s no card that I can get for under £100 that`s decent for usual run of the mill stuff. My nephew uses my pc for some graphics he does at collage but thats about it.

Any recommendations at all???

I already have the maximim 3gig of ram, the silent CPU fan and quiet case fan and 5.1 speakers. Hence me wanting to upgrade the graphics card as its the only thing left.

Which is the best graphics card?

I realize you`re all probably sick of answering this question but I need a little advice please.

I currently have a NVIDIA Geforce FX5200 128mb and I want to upgrade to a 256 card, just because I can basically, have a bit of spare cash and feel like getting one.

I have around £70 ish to spend maybe a little more. I went to my local PC fair to se what they had and this is pretty much all I saw I my price range

Radeon 9250 256mb £49
Geforce FX5500 256mb £49
Geforce 6200 256mb £65
Radion 9600 pro 256mb £69

That was pretty much it, so which of those is the best? or is there another one in that price range I should consider. I`m not a gamer or anything, just feel like beefing up my pc a little.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.

so its not like I have one amd athlon XP 32 bit, so I could buy a mother board with duel processor suppost and add another athlon? It would have to be xeon?


I`m thinking of upgrading at christmas, but don`t want to upgade to a 64bit just yet, because I couldn` afford the price of a decent 64 bit processor. Hence my curiosity about this. Sorry if the questions seem simple, I just really have no clue.

Duel Processors.

I was talking to a friend last night about duel processors and was wondering if someone could give me the basics of it. Obviously you need a mother board that supports it, but can you use any type of processor? or does it have to be a certain one? do they work as one processor? does it just run as a normal pc with one processor does?

I`m clueless.

Sorry, I have the Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 128MB. I uninstalled the display drivers and video playback is fine now, the rest of my display doesn`t look to good though. But I checked the colour settings when the drivers were installed and everything was fine.

Does anyone know if the current nvidia drivers on the website are a new release? and if so where can I get the old ones? everything was fine before the reformat, and I downloaded the drivers from the site.

Video playback problem.

I hope someone has a clue as to what`s up here. I`m having a problem with video playback, whenever I play any type of video it seems to have a white cast over it, like its to bright, but adjusting brightness settings doesn`t do anything.

I had to reformat and got everything installed that`s when it started doing it, I didn`t worry about it to much as I has to reformat yet again (I`m seemingly having never ending PC troubles lately), but its doing it again now after the second reformat.

I`ve tried different files with different players (Windows Media Player, Winamp and DivX) and am getting the same thing.

I`ve tried adjusting display settings to no avail. Everything was fine before the reformat. and my display is fine besides this.

Anyone got any suggestions

Thanks for the replies.

I had tried ad-aware, spy ware, spybot and spy cleaner gold. none of them picked anything up at all. I had tried avast virus scanner, zone alarms, trend, norton, mcafee and the tool for the W32.toxbot all to no avail.

Ended up reformatting again, used killdisk to make sure everything was gone, unplugged my modem and installed sygate and avast before going online, thankfully I seem virus free up to now.

Is this a virus?

just reformatted my pc and it went crazy when I first did windows update, restarted, installed avast and it got rid of 9 viruses. (lord knows how I got them i`d be online all of 10 seconds and only on the wondows update site)

Everything seems to be okay now, managed to get XP SP2 installed without any problems, but I have a file called `upnpdrv.exe` that keeps asking for internet access, keeps trying to access `0xDEADBEEF.martiansong.com`

It apparently in my windows\system32 folder although I can`t find it and a search turns up nothing, google turns up nothing and yet avast and trend don`t detect any viruses on my system.

So, does anyone have any idea what it is? and if it is a virus, how do I get rid off it.

the drive is freezing as am trying to access it sometimes, it`ll be fine for a sec and then stop responding and i`ll get the `program is not responding` box. It was doing this a month or so ago and a it turned out my drive had totally failed, so I want to run the diagnostics to see if it finds anything.

The iso files are to make a bootable disk for the drive fitness tests.

Probably a really stupid question but...

I`m having trouble with my slave drive and have been told by the shop I bought it from to try eitherMaxtor`s powermax or IBM`s drive fitness test, so I`ve downloaded them both, made floppy disks and windows XP doesn`t boot from them so I figured I`d make the CD`s, so I downloaded the iso`s and for the life of me can`t figure out how to burn them to CD, the IBM one doesn`t seem to be anything like an iso, just a rar file full of folders and the Maxtor one has two bin files on but whenever I try to burn them as an image it tells me `unexpected file format`.

So can anyone give me instruction on how to actually make the CD`s? it would be greatly appreciated.
