RE: Canadian Samsung 511 - Help needed with remote hack.

I`m using a multisystem TV, it does PAL,SECAM,MESECAM and both types of NTSC. It may be that the 511 can`t convert PAL to NTSC but I thought that it should be able to read the data on the disc and put it out in it`s native format. Still, thanks for the reply. I may have landed myself with a bit of a white elephant.

Canadian Samsung 511 - Help needed with remote hack.

I recently bought a Samsung DVD 511 for use here in Saudi Arabia where I have access to a large nnumber of region 1 & 2 DVD`s. The player is region one as default and I wanted to try to play some of my region 2 DVD`s. I tried the Samsung 707 hack using a One for All home theatre remote and got the message CS 00 01 on the front panel of the player. I than continued with the hack and got the message adjust on the front panel; on placing a region 2 DVD in the player it started to read then displayed stop on the player and the message check TV sytem on the screen. Nothing I tried made any differenc. Any thoughts, people?

Best regards,
Peter.
