RE: Sony 55" RP TV only £999 with FREE 5YR G`TEE (was £1499)

All gone now (:¦ . I ordered one of these at the weekend & also used a £20 off voucher and went via Quidco getting 5% off the selling price. £930 with a 5 year warranty is excellent value for a 55" 1080p screen. I don`t see the point in wall mounting lcd`s & plasmas as you still need space for amp, dvd player etc. The depth of this tv is about the same as my amp so it`ll fit nicely in the supplied stand along with Sky HD, centre speaker, Xbox 360 & DVD player :D

Cheap electricals at Asda

Popped in to Asda at Pudsey (its a Wall-Mart superstore) and they had 2 different dvd recorders for £84.95. One was a cyberhome with dv-in & the other was a pye. They also had some 28" widescreen tvs (Pacific I think) for £159, Minolta X31 digital camera s for £69, casio z3 digital cameras for £87, casio z4 digital cameras for £112 & casio EXS 100 digital cameras for £122. I didn`t really have time to get more specs of tv & dvd recorders but thought someone might find the above of use.

RE: PHILIPS DIVX/PROG SCAN DVD PLAYER £42.30!!!!!

Got mine today. Its a very nice player although its quite big, its thin & firmware was easy to upgrade via the Philips site. Its made multiregion by simply opening the drawer, then pressing 9 9 9 9 0. The 0 can be changed to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2 etc. 0 is for region free. I also found some custom firmware which improves subtitles on DIVX and also allows longer mp3 names, unbranded backgounds & various other bits n bobs here Thanks to OP

My mate got his installed today. Its a V1 pace box but looked like new. Full retail box etc. He`s well chuffed with it although I don`t care much for the viewing card flap. For those who can`t be bothered looking, it has the green led ring on the LHS & a black stip running down the middle of the front of the box with a push flap for the viwing card.

Bought 1 last time round. Works just fine with Sky+. Will also control 3 other IR devices. It has self adhesive IR "eyes" which you position near the IR window on your equipment.

Can`t remember exactly, it was a 2400 unit. When I get my order number, I`ll be able to let you know full spec. From memory it was:- 2.6gig Celeron, 256 Mb RAM, 80 gig HDD, MS Works, Win XP home, CD ROM drive, Keyboard & Mouse. There was also the usual trial software. I`ll post full specs when I get the order no.

Good news for some.

I too got the email even though I ordered a base unit that did not require the monitor to be included. It came to a total of £158 & a few pence. I have just received this email

Dear Sir/Madam,

If you have a V2 box, try putting it just to the left of the TV Guide button and place it horizontal. It should now be about 2-3 cm away from the last silver button. It should work a treat now. HTH,

Have you tried changing the channel on the sender & receiver. If they are the same as the last ones Aldi had, there are 4 seperate frequencies you can select. I have a Sony TV and it works fine.
