The ratings are either 1 or 5. I wonder if the firmware upgrade mentioned by one reviewer might be the answer. BTW what are "multi angle discs"?

Fantastic spot, can`t wait to get mine up and running. DivX playback, SACD, as well as onboard DTS for under £50? Must be a catch... :)

DazMack - Can`t see there being a catch, a few on here have ordered one maybe they could let us know if all went well.

Pavlov - `Multi angle dics` I believe, appear on a few dvd`s (never seen one myself), where during the film a camera icon appears on screen which means if you press the angle button on your remote you can see the current scene from a different angle. If I`m wrong somebody else must know.

Steve.

That`s pretty much it, as I ujderstand it, as with many technilogical advances these days, it was pioneered by the adult movie industry, to get a different view of the action!

I`ve seen it in some live music DVD, so you can watch the drummer rather than the live singer, or whatever.

Got mine today. Its a very nice player although its quite big, its thin & firmware was easy to upgrade via the Philips site. Its made multiregion by simply opening the drawer, then pressing 9 9 9 9 0. The 0 can be changed to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2 etc. 0 is for region free. I also found some custom firmware which improves subtitles on DIVX and also allows longer mp3 names, unbranded backgounds & various other bits n bobs here Thanks to OP
