thanks for the advice.got the panasonic dmr-eh50 yesterday.no longer need to mess about trying to find a blank video, can just record to the hdd now.happy days!

thanks a lot mate.if i leave it NOT finalised, can i still watch that particular dvd-r on my own machine? Am i correct in saying i only need to finalise the dvd-r to play on other dvd players?

Right this is gonna probably sound like a stupid question but take into account i`m a dvd novice please!
When i`ve recorded a tv programme to a dvd-r for the first time and have not filled the disc up completely, can i go back at a later date and add other recordings to the same disc? or is once a dvd-r has been used that is it, i can no longer record to it?

panasonic dmr-e85 or panasonic dmr-eh50? Whats best to go for?

I`ve decided that for my first dvd recorder with hdd i`m either going to get one of these recorders?
I can get the dmr-e85 for £260 inc del. and the dmr-eh50 for £300 inc del.
Is it worth paying the extra £40 for the eh50? What difference is it apart from dvd-ram?

Which offers the best deal?

I`m going to by a dvd recorder with a hard drive.Looking to spend round the £300 mark (or as little as possible for a decent machine!).
Can anyone recommend any?
I`ve heard good things about the panasonic dvr-e85 and the pioneer dvr420.Are these the best to go for that are in my price range?

help needed with mms on gx20

Hi, i have a sharp gx20 and everytime i send or receive mms picture messages they are really small, even though they are sent from full screen pictures.
The person i`m sending pics to has a sharp gx25 and they have the same problem.
I`d like to send my mms pics so that they are full screen.when i receive them at the mo they are just thumnail size.
please help.

My 5 speakers connect to the subwoofer(which has an on/off, main volume & sub volume switches), and the subwoofer has 3 connections coming from it which connect to either the player or as you stated the receiver.The connections are SUB/CEN (ORANGE), FR/FL (GREEN), RR/RL (BLACK), and have plugs like a earphone socket type.
Would more or less any amplifier have these connections as looking on ebay a lot of the amps have 5.1 sockets?
I`ve never connected or used 5.1 speakers before so i`m a novice as you can tell!!!

i have some 5.1 surround sound speakers with subwoofer.My dvd player and tv only have 2 outputs.i.e for 2 speakers.
Is there any way i can connect my 5.1 speakers to my dvd player or tv? maybe by way of an adaptor or anything?
Or are they only connectable via a 5.1 dvd player/tv etc?

I`ve also heard a few people have problems with the sidewinder steering wheel running on xp? that`s one other reason why i may look to another steering wheel for my xp pc.

Can anyone recommend a good steering wheel for my new pc? I`m looking at the force feedback ones and the microsoft sidewinder one looks good but is expensive.anyone recommend a wheel that does more or less the same as the sidewinder one but isnt as expensive?
or is there any other steering wheels which i should take a look at?

URGENT HELP NEEDED WITH CONNECTING PC`S

Hi,
i`m tring to trnsfer files from my old pc(windows 95) to my new pc(windows xp).i`m using winlink software and connecting pc`s thru printer connection using a parallel cable for file transfers.
problem is every time i start winlink on my new pc it says `no parallel ports available`.
I`m sure everything is ok and the cable is fitted fine, so does anyone know what`s the problem here?
I`m baffled now so i`m in need of urgent help please.

I`m new to mp3 players, so don`t really know the difference between these 2 for example and ones with a hard drive.
Am i right in saying that with an ipod you can only download mp3`s on it from the ipod site itself? maybe a stupid question, but like i said i`m new to this and my next mp3 player purchase will be my first mp3 player! i`m after at least 1gb and like the idea of the fm radio integrated with the player.

yeah, it`s the grd-32. what tapes would you recommend, benn using jvc ones but they seem a tad grainy.

Well for instance what i`ve done is gone on ebay and searched under the exact same model no as my own camcorder battery and many batteries have come up mostly showing as a replacement battery that can be recharged, but look exactly the same as my own.
yet a couple of sellers will have a battery that looks the same but is stated as `not a replacement`.but these batteries are a lot more expensive.
Which battery is worth getting?

i`ve just got a new jvc camcorder which has a JVC bn-v408u rechargeable battery with it.
I`m looking to buy another battery, but can someone tell me the difference between an ordinary battery and one called a `replacement` battery?
what`s the difference? apart from the price.should i stay away from replacement batteries?
maybe the above is a daft question, but i`m new to this camcorder lark!

Need help with internet explorer

having problems with internet explorer and my pc.
i can now only connect to the internet via outlook express.Every time i double click to make the connection my usual way nothing happens at all!
Also when i try and double click anything in the control panel for instance, the message `rundll32.exe is not a valid win32 application` appears, and won`t let me do anything.
Also while on internet explorer the message `the OSSPROXY.EXE file is linked to missing export KERNEL32.DLL:Is Debugger Present.` will appear say every 15 minutes or so.what is this? and how do i get rid of it?

please if anyone can help regarding the above, please reply cos it`s doin my head in!

hi,
i`m trying to speed up my pc.everytime my pc switches on the quicktime logo appears bottom right of screen.(taskbar).I no longer have quicktime installed on my pc, so why is this still coming up?.i`ve changed the settings so the start menu should not load any programs.(especially one thats not even on my hard disk anymore!).
can someone help me, cos i think i`ve tried everything.My knowledge of pcs is not good.

I`m quite new to dvd.i`ve got a region free dvd player, can anyone tell me if there is any difference in quality between region 1 and region 2 dvds?

problems with reading files on wordpad

many times when i`ve tried to read document attachments from emails i`ve received, i can`t. Basically,the file downloads, then goes into wordpad to show it, but all the text isl scrambled and unreadable.is there any way of rectifying this at all?

Important Outlook Express question

My outlook express email suddenly has stopped letting me send any emails.Everytime i try and send an email to any address it comes up with an error message. i.e. "one of the recipients was rejected by the server". What does this mean? and how can i correct it so that i can send emails again. I have no problem receiving them by the way.
Please help.

both of the cd`s i`m having problems with(new bowie+mccartney live albums) were bought from cd wow.i`ve not checked if they are copy controlled on the ones stocked in our high street shops or not.

Thanks a lot for your help mike. had an idea the reason may have been something like that.These 2 cd`s are both on the EMI label, so looks like it`s something that that label will be doing from now on! you`re right, it`s not on.I want to keep these cd`s (i take it these 2 albums will have all been manufactured the same?, so no point in exchanging), i`ll just have to play them on my dvd/cd player. thanks again.
