RE: Satellite freeview bargain? Hope so!

You need a dish to pick up signals with this. It should fit on the end of a Sky mini dish if you want to get the Free to Air channels but it will drive a DiSEqC motor and so you can watch channels from different satellites.

With the CI you can add two cards from subscription channels (not Sky though).

If you are looking at getting a reciever I would suggest the Dreambox. About twice as expensive for the entry model but will allow you to use a Sky card and other things as well.

RE: XviD Playback problems

I bought one of these http://www.avforums.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-462577.html at woolworths and so far it has played everything I have thrown at it.

DVD, CD, MP3 and home burnt XVID discs (DVD - R)

Mind you only two weeks in so I cannot say anything about durability

RE: SF novel free download of ebook by Charles Stross

Have any of you been to Baen.

I never even thought of mentioning it until this thread was posted.

They have a free library of Sci-Fi and Fantasy ebooks. I can recommend the Honor Harrington series.

Go to www.baen.com and follow the links

PVR-A1 Media Centre around £80

The reviews on this seem good and it`s the cheapest price I have seen for it at present

Does anyone have personal experience of it?

RE: Stock Clearance at thatzdvd.com

Have a look for it in the sale section and then click on the buy button. It should go into your basket at the lower price. If you search for the title or open it before buying the price goes up.

Stock Clearance at thatzdvd.com

There`s a sale on at www.thatzdvd.com/2003_dvd_list_clearance2.asp
