please help! VCD / avi question

i have an avi that is 699mb. Is there a way to just put this on a disc and play on my dvd player as a vcd or scvd or whatever without converting anything?

i have a 4KUS DVR-230 and they are real good and cheap. You can choose between NTSC and PAL - i dont know if that will fix your problem though, but maybe all different types of PAL will work. they are like £120. but in the US they are made by ILO and have a different name. they are around £80.
they use DVD+R and DVD+RW discs

4KUS DVR-230 Firmware Update

I`m looking for the firmware update. I downloaded the update for the ilo-dvdr04 but it didnt work on the dvr-230. (they are the same dvd player?)
and i just wasted cd-r discs attempting to update.
does anyone know where to get the firmware update for the dvr-230?????????????

Help with 4KUS DVR230

I recently bought a dvr230 from asda and also ordered some imation 4x dvd+rw 4.7gb 120min discs from amazon.co.uk
I insert one of these discs and get "preparing" then "reading" then "fail"
i read in the manual that discs need to be erased before use. although this wasnt true with the free dvd+rw i got withit or the 5 DVD+R`s that i bought from asda when i bought the dvr230 but i tried it anyway and i thought it was working until it stopped at 84% for a while then went ti 87% then said FAIL. this happened while trying 3 different discs.
It seems only these imation discs dont work and i bought 25 of them! they are definitely +RW`s so that isnt the problem
can anybody help me?!?!
