I am afraid you have been misled by the sales assistant as the sharp Model DVD-RW250 cannot be hacked. Although this model is an OEM product you would require firmware to change original settings.

RE: Grundig GR1000(B) DVD/VHS combi
The Grundig GR1000A/B models were not produced by Daewoo, but weremanufactured by Orion Electric Uk Ltd for Dixons PLC.
There is no hack available using the remote and panel buttons, as the only way to change to region settings is to re-programme with modified firmware.
