Looking for Instrumental Guitar Songs: Help/Advice please
Hi! I am looking for instrumental guitar songs for a party I am having at home. It is not a dance party, but just a lunch, so thought having some nice fast and cheerful guitar in the background might help - spanish guitar maybe?
Any pointers as to what to look for? Torrents preferred ;)
Repairing Laptop Screen
I have broken the plastic casing on my laptop screen - as a result it has become temperamental, and sometimes goes very dim and sometimes shuts down. Anyone have any ideas to whats happening?
Otherwise, where can I get it repaired?
RE: Samsung LE32R41BD - tearing issues!! Arrgh!!
That`s bizarre, coz after your post, I tried very very hard to watch out for the tearing, but nothing! The only difference (and I find it hard to believe thats what it might be down to) is that I have the R41B - the one without the tuner... so I use a standalone Freeview box...
If you have same issues on your 3rd set, we could compare notes and see what differences in setting we have - maybe that might help!
Which new car should I buy?
I currently drive a Renault Laguna 2001 - and am bored with it! Want a new car, something sw***ier ;) But cant figure out which one to buy... the options I have are
1. Mazda RX-8
2. Mercedes Benz C220CDI Sports Saloon
3. BMW 520d SE
Anyone drive any of these? Or maybe have mates driving these that can give me a lowdown of running costs? All indicators on the internet point to the Mazda... but is it a good choice?
Cheers
RE: Netgear DG834T 108mbps Wireless Router + USB2.0 Adaptor for £89.99
I asked about AOL compatibility from PCWorld and they said that Netgear had some sort of tie up with AOL making their products better suited than Belkin etc.
RE: Buying cheap in the US - advice please?
Customs duties are incurred when you bring the item over the border - if you rip the packaging and leave the memory card alongwith the others you have - no one will ask you. Of course, if you have 6 spanking new Olympus digicams in your handbag, still intact with packaging, then you will be liable for customs duty.
As long as the product is used - or you can prove with sufficient certainty that it is - no duty. basically make them believe that you had it when you went out
RE: Best Friend - Pah!

RE: Best Friend - Pah!
Learn a lesson, down a few pints and knock him out - and use some choice words including, but not limited to w***er etc. etc.
Honestly - stay away from him... where`s ur new best mate?
RE: Holiday Romances
Thought that was called Electric Lemonade - but I loooooove that one... make mine with a double dose of vodka, but cut the cherry! Try it with Some orange juice, and that gives it a nice green color too ;)
RE: Holiday Romances
I meant the "suckling" scene in Blue Lagoon - which I found to be of immense interest since the movie was released when I was a kid - and tough to get hold of decent p0rn (used to live in india then)
RE: Samsung LE32R41BD - tearing issues!! Arrgh!!
did the OP manage to sort the issues out?
And Micky - no sweat: This is hi-def compatible (esp. if you get the R51) so should be straight up n running for the 360
RE: Humidty So High
If you are suffering from humidity (esp. with the clammy forehead, slightly cool to touch and a load of headaches) - try drinking an indian drink called Shikanjvi. one part lemon juice, 20 parts water, ice cubes, salt and sugar to taste. Use ordinary sugar and not sweeteners. Thisll refresh u unlike anything else
RE: Holiday Romances
Bowfer, whats a Blue Lagoon - the only thing I remember (no offence, but might not be too interesting to Bat or his flatmate) is the Brooke Shields movie ;)
RE: Holiday Romances
Try a pint (or 10) of Foster`s finest, and itll be all well in a couple of hours ;)
RE: Holiday Romances
A friend of mine from India came to the UK on holiday - and got involved with a spanish woman - they are married happily, living in india (unhappily)...
RE: Laptop - TV connection: Help Please!
The laptop screen does show the picture - however, I cannot switch it off! I tried using the key-combo to transfer the main screen to the TV but doesnt work. Thanks for the info though - will try using a D-Sub coz the TV does have that input and the downloaded stuff pixellates onthe TV (the one that works that is)
RE: Holiday Romances
Hope you are holding up well Bats.
I think, IMHO, that it is technically more likely that a non-gay person will get AIDS than a gay person... law of probabilities.
SPOILER:
As for BillyFlash - I seriously wonder if he was born stupid or if he was enrolled into a special school. No different from the w***ers who p*** you off everyday. Have one these kinds in my office too - no job but to roam around all day, bugging people to no end.

RE: Netgear DG834T 108mbps Wireless Router + USB2.0 Adaptor for £89.99
On this, it comes in the pack - and IMHO, the speed is much better.
Laptop - TV connection: Help Please!
Hi! I tried to use an S-video cable to connect from my Laptop to my new TV (Samsung LE32R41B). As soon as I connect my laptop, I can see the desktop on the TV, and I can see anything which is still - pictures etc. are visible!
Movies work fine, as long as I can play them in PowerDVD - which is limted to a few movies. Most of my "downloaded" movies dont work in power DVD - only in quicktime or windows media player - and running these movies is the main reason I want this connection!
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Will using a D-Sub cable (the TV has a PC-Input) be better?
Is this an issue with refresh rates or something?
Any help appreciated.

Netgear DG834T 108mbps Wireless Router + USB2.0 Adaptor for £89.99
Hey all! My first post here (hopefully will be useful to someone).
PC World have reduced their Netgear DG834T Wireless Router + USB2.0 Adaptor bundle from 129.99 to 89.99.
I am currently using this - and it is a brilliant piece of equipment. A quick check on pricerunner turns out that the 54mbps version sells on amazon (without the USB adaptor) for £70. IMHO, is a good deal if you want to change your router, and have a PC/Laptop with a free USB port.
It is easy to install...

RE: Wireless connection - internal or external
BTW - PCWorld has slashed the Netgear package to 89. I can vouch for the performance - totally painless config and brilliant connection!
RE: Wireless connection - internal or external
Totally agree to that - in fact PCWorld have the Netgear DG834T (128 mbps) wireless router and USB adaptor/PCMCIA card for £129. Works like a charm and superfast!
Another way to look at it is that if you want to up your wireless network speed - you can change the router/adaptor but if it is inbuilt, it will be painful to upgrade! Plus the max inbuilt I have seen is G - which is half the speed of the Netgear
RE: Samsung LE32R41BD - tearing issues!! Arrgh!!
Have you tried changing the image setting - thats one of the colored buttons at the bottom of the remote. I have notices tearing too - especially when using the dynamic picture setting (which brings into play the Dnie - samsung engine which increases contrast from 800:1 to 3000:1 by slowly panning across the image and recreating every bit of it - like a noise filter). Change this to Movie - switching the Dnie off. The picture might darken a bit - depending on the quality of the DVD, but usually stays clear. This should reduce tearing to almost zero (I havent managed to detect any after I do this).

Email on Sony Ericsson K750i
I`ve been trying to set up email on my K750i - have managed to browse the web in general, but cant get to send or receive email... any help/sites?
RE: LCD Tv - What is good spec?
Those are good enough! Most TVs in the market conform to that - however look at the response time too, should be <14 ms - anything over that and you will see a lot of streaking... the lesser, the better. I am told the best response time in the market currently is around 4ms (dont know which TV) but the new Samsung (see other thread) is 8ms which is pretty darn good too
RE: Tracks to show-off your hi-fi - what are you favourites?
Enigma - Principles of Lust - Sadeness (I like the bass response in that - test car stereos on this basis, dont know how it would do on hi-fis)
RE: AV Sender
Come on!!! Someone!
AV Sender
I need some help on buying an AV Sender - basically have the TV in one room, and the aerial/sky socket in another. I was using the Total Control AV sender from Argos till recently, but the quality was p*** poor - could be due to the fac that I have a wireless router and a phone (both operating at 2.4 Ghz) interfering with the Sender.
I bought one of the High Gain indoor freeview aerials yday, after returning the sender, but thats not working too well as well. The gain required for perfect picture varies on the channels.
So back to using the AV sender - anyone recommend one which will not face interference or maybe operates at a frequency other than 2.4ghz?
Or maybe a nice strong indoor freeview aerial (I am using the philips for £35 from Argos currently)
TIA
