Repairing Laptop Screen

I have broken the plastic casing on my laptop screen - as a result it has become temperamental, and sometimes goes very dim and sometimes shuts down. Anyone have any ideas to whats happening?

Otherwise, where can I get it repaired?

The fascia aside (assuming the LCD assembly is still intact) it sounds as though there has been damage to\dislodged ribbon cable connectors to either the inverter pcb or the backlight.

I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.

Hi there,

Sorry to learn of your mishap.
If you manage to confirm the exact parts needed, there are allways good deals on ebay for perfectly good kit.

Laptop repairers tend to try it on. If your laptop is not moved about that much, why not a comon desk top screan?
From memory they have out puts for doing this. I believe that altering the default display is a standard thing
