RE: Samsung LE26R51BD High Definition T.V
Finally got my TV today and....well....what can I say.....worth every penny (even if you have to pay the store price of £799)! However, thankfully I only paid £649 on-line (see previous comments). Nomino, thanks for your advice on the wall mount bracket and screen set up mate.
I have to say that for may years I`ve been a SONY man through and through. In fact this is the first non-Sony item I`ve purchased for more than 10 years because I really love the design and build quality of Sony products. However, Sony can be fairly expensive and in this instance I found it difficult to find a really nice looking Sony LCD with integrated Digital and HD ready.
Following some extensive research I finally purchased the Samsung and now its been delivered I can tell anyone thinking of buying one that this LCD TV really is exceptional value for money. In fact I believe its better then any Sony LCD TV on the market today.
The most impressive thing for me (apart from its beautiful appearance and build quality) is the amount of options available to allow the user to set the sound, picture and channels perfectly (but without any confusing manuals or menu systems), really clever stuff and a great deal of thought has clearly gone into this at Samsung. Sony need to watch out as they`ve already lost one loyal customer!
One thing you should watch out for is that Comet (and some others) are selling the older model (without the black V shape at the screen base) for the same price as other stores are selling the newer model. I got mine from Dixons on-line.
Hope this helps if you are thinking of buying this TV.
Best wishes
Alan

Hi,
Bracket
Nomino, thanks for your link on the bracket. I`ll try one of these when my TV arrives (latter today).
Prices
I cant believe they have increased the price, seems like for once in my life I was lucky as we placed our order only a few hours before the prices went back up again. I would also recommend this site http://www.vouchercodes.com/electricals.htm You can find all sorts of discount vouchers there. Good Luck!
Best wishes,
Alan
SONY 5.1 DVD Player - Model DAV S800
Hi, I seem to get low hissing through all the speakers whenever I use the player. It hisses when watching TV, use the FM radio facility or play a DVD. I thought it may be due to the low quality speaker cables that come with it so I got a quality Monster Cable set of speaker cables but they still hiss. I dont have any other electrical items nearby that could cause interferrence. Any experts out there with advice?
Thanks,
Alan
RE: Samsung LE26R51BD High Definition T.V
Hi guys and thanks for the advice regarding the £50 off. I tried this on Sunday at the Dixons web site and it worked! I got the LE26R51BD High Definition for £649 including free delivery. Nomino, could you let me know where you got the wall mount please and how much it cost as I think I may invest in one. Also, does anyone know how easy it is to thread the cables through a stud partitioned wall? Any tips, thanks.
