You can use this other Phillips hack code if you like, but it does lock your player after 25 times.

1. Check there is no disc in the player, so the display reads `NO DISC`
2. Press play on your DVD`s remote, followed by 159
3. The display should have dashes accross it, like this `------ ------`
4. On your DVD remote, type in 008000000000
5. The screen should flash blue, the player should turn off, then on again.
6. It should now be Region 1

To change back, follow the above instruction, but type in 002000000000 instead. OK?

I can`t find this remote anywhere! How much are they? I`ve locked me feckin` player (Phillips 701), so i can`t watch my Gone in 60 seconds disc! How much are they, and where can i find them? Let us know.

I can help you here,coodem.

First, check there is no disc in the player, so the display says `NO DISC`.Then, on your remote, press `PLAY`, then 159.
The DVD display should now have 11 dashes accross it, like this
`-----------`.
Then, type in the following numbers:
008000000000. Your TV screen should flash blue, the player will turn off, then on again. Your player should now be region 1.

To switch it back to Region 2, follow the above instructions, but type in
002000000000 instead, OK?

Unfortunately, this does lock your player after 25 times, but you can sort that out with an All4One remote, but i don`t know how.

Hi `Sledge` (??). Err, you said the best hack for the 701 is the one on this site,
but being a new DVD owner, it might as well have been written in
japanese, it made that much sense!! Could you please send me the hack in laymans terms? Cheers

Help me! I need a region 1 hack code for my Philips 701!

I`ve recently recieved a Philips DVD701, and several REGION 1 discs.
The 701 may be able to change output from PAL to NTSC, but it seems
as though it is unhackable! I`ve searched everywhere i can think of, and i still cannot find the remote hack code. Can you help me here, cus i really can`t be buggered to have a warranty voiding chip whacked in it!?
