RE: Is Region 1 Aiwa 370 hackable

Well I went in to work on my day off to try it again.. and i could not do it.. I did everything just as it was supposed to.. hit pause after the code, turned it off an waited, turned it back on... put in my disc.. and got the dreaded "check disc". I went in and pulled up the firm ware screen.. everything was identical except the last line which looked like this...
55 53 00 4E 10 00 00 00
if there is anything else which can be done let me know and i will try it again...

RE: Is Region 1 Aiwa 370 hackable

I do not think that the 370 US is hackable.. i work at Circuit City in the video dept, and have tried the hacks for the aiwa and the Phillips 711.. both appear to work.. if you type in the code for aiwa it brings the place to enter a code, i enter it..i have tried 0 for all region and 2 for region 2, but it still wont play my region 2 disc. neither will the phillips...
if you find anythin else out on the subject please pass the info on to me...

Pal to NTSC question

I am writing from California US, dont know if anyone there can answer my question, cant find any US sites that seem to help. Here is my problem.. i have started getting some region 2 discs, i have read of many hacks for turning your region 2 players to multiregion, and have tested those for the Aiwa 370 and Phillips 711 and havent been successful in them workin yet. Does anyone know if it makes a difference whether they are from US or UK, does anyone know if they will force a pal signal to an NTSC tv, and if i needed to, would it be possible to buy a player from the uk and have it shipped to the states. Any feedback would be helpful... thanks

RE: Is there a major difference between optical and coaxil for dd 5.1

I see you already got a response but i thought i would give you one also. i work in circuit city an electronics retailer here in the states. the guys in the audio department told me that for a short run like 1 meter the major difference is that you get a larger bandwith, which should give you better sound, as he said, i dont think you would here the difference.. the only way optical is beneficial is if you are doing a longer run, in which case the signal will not degrade. i hope i was some help
