RE: HD CRTS - DOES IT REALLY EXIST IN UK? (PLEASE HELP WITH ESTABLISHING)

Comet are starting to get these sets in.

Got to see one on the weekend. They didn`t have a HD feed so I asked for a DVD demo. They hooked up a prog scan Samsung using HDMI and......I was disappointed. Picture was worse than my 15yr-old Sony Trinitron. Lots of grain on the flat areas of colour. I don`t know if this was because the set was not properly configured (too much over-processing?) as I didn`t have time to play and the staff weren`t particularly helpful.

I don`t want to give up on this just yet, so hopefully someone else can report.

RE: Hi-Def CRT

Hi-Def CRT`s are widely available in the USA but European consumers just haven`t been given the choice. I think current LCD technology is overrated and would consider the slimmer CRT`s if only there were some information available. Apart from the Samsung, Phillips apparently do one over here also.

Hi-Def CRT

Are there any Hi-Definition CRT`s available in the UK? I`ve heard about the latest Samsung Slimfit units but no-one has seen one or has concrete specs.

How do Hi-Def CRT`s compare to LCD? I`m not worried about size and don`t like LCD pictures when watching Sky.

Cheers.
