Page 1 of Hi-Def CRT

Are there any Hi-Definition CRT`s available in the UK? I`ve heard about the latest Samsung Slimfit units but no-one has seen one or has concrete specs.
How do Hi-Def CRT`s compare to LCD? I`m not worried about size and don`t like LCD pictures when watching Sky.
Cheers.
i don`t think there is such a thing as hi df crt tv as i heard they`r doing away with crt
completly gone th way of the dinosour something to do with the amount of power they use compared with lcd and other flat screen tvs

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..
Hi-Def CRT`s are widely available in the USA but European consumers just haven`t been given the choice. I think current LCD technology is overrated and would consider the slimmer CRT`s if only there were some information available. Apart from the Samsung, Phillips apparently do one over here also.
The Samsung slim-TV is definitely HD Ready. I saw one in a curries, and it was marked HD-Ready. Here are two links from a shop I was considering buying it from...

Timechaser, The sets you have linked say they are not HD ready. I would do some checking just to make sure.
Dr 42%er.
It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

The sets you have linked say they are not HD ready. Is that going off the "HD Ready? No" bit of the description? It also says 1080i native resolution which is confusing. This suggests it is.
Their own page doesn`t make it much clearer either. :/ but it does say "PAL : 1080i(HD) / 576P(SD)/ 480P(SD)/ 576i(Analog)/ 480i(Analog)"
On another note, 42%er (real one..), what`s the point of an HDMI connection on the forthcoming batch of DVD Recorders etc.? Just marketing bull? Given they`re SD.
