RE: The Hamster and Captain Slow threaten to leave Top Gear over pay!!!
Quote:
The negotiations come at a difficult time for the BBC, which is having to make cuts in key departments to make up for a funding gap left by a less-than-expected licence fee settlement.
The should try cutting the the auction/buy a house/cooking/ TV shows and the radio stations that nobody listens to along with the massive over staffing ...Does anybody ever leave the BBC ?.. Watch the 24 hour news channels and the words "cor i thought he died years ago" and "God I didn`T know they still read the news " come forth. :¦

RE: any watch BBC`s Rogue traders?
Heard this being talked about last summer on the radio, about children in need and Terry Wogan.
Quote:
The BBC revealed that while a string of household names give their time for free, Sir Terry, 68, receives £1,300 an hour to host the charity TV show.
Documents released under the Freedom of Information Act to the Mail On Sunday newspaper laid bare the cost of the staging the event. They showed Sir Terry picked up £9,065 in 2005 for a seven-hour role as the Children in Need main presenter.
The total cost of the TV, radio and online event, including studios, outside broadcast facilities, staff and production, was £1.2 million. But the BBC said the fee has been in place since 1980, when Sir Terry first presented Children In Need, and has never been negotiated.
Give me Top Gear any time.

Go to that famous Manchester nightclub (Brannigans I think, spll) that is featured on Most Haunted and hide in there after a night out . :)

RE: BBC redundancies
They should sack 50% of the "workers" and then phase out the TV licence over a two year period, even with 50% of staff gone they would still be overstaffed, and BBC local radio and TV is dire and would not last a week in the real commercial world.

That will never happen as we will turn all the wind generators outward on one side of the planet & instead of generating, they will turn as an electric engine, & blow us to a nicer more friendly sun.

RE: Al Gore named Nobel Peace Prize Winner
Climate change started the very day that the earth was created and will end the day the sun
eats it, there is a lot of money being made out of the climate change twaddle, like somebody once said "there were no four by fours at the last ice age", the majority of these people are hypocrites, ..................Nice to know that they still give awards for bad science. :B

Quote:
anyone else looking at Hammond and thinking `Early mid-life crisis` or `desperately trying to reclaim his youth before he barrels into a brick wall - again`
To right he looked silly,if I was the editor of a red top newspaper I would try and find out if he had some young tart on the go, show was a bit limp as well.

RE: BBC to launch HD channel
Quote:
the people who believe CRT is STILL better than LCD/Plasma are probably the ones ....
Yes and that includes the people that make the Plasma/LCD kings clothes models
Quote:
The promise of SED technology is the ability to produce a TV as thin as an LCD or plasma display but deliver the colour intensity and refresh speed of an old-style CRT screen.
There was some gimp on QVC last night claiming that HD TV was six times better than normal SD TV......And then there`s that Which report that states how a lot of people feel let down by the promise of HD. quality....and so on.

RE: BBC to launch HD channel
Quote:
I`ve seen SD broadcasts on LCD and plasma that are easily as good as anything I`ve seen on CRT....
No you haven`t,unless the tube in the CRT was burnt out or it was switched off....
Mr Dwyer
RE: BBC to launch HD channel
HD was used to make a bad product acceptable (Plasma/LCD flat screens) a good SD feed into a good CRT is a much better picture, the HD LCD/Plasma is a case of the kings clothes in my opinion.

RE: Kate McCann to be named a suspect.
Quote:
In fairness I agree with most things in this thread that imply something that may be astray, but you are implying the Portuguese have evidenc.
They never issue description of any suspect no matter how much evidence or eye witnesses they have of a suspect, they have to come to the UK to do a DNA test ,that says it all to me they should stick to making corks and cheap wine and leave the police work to the local donkey ,he would do a better job.
Mr Dwyer
RE: Kate McCann to be named a suspect.
Quote:
I`d just like to applaud the Portugese Police, as the only difference between their methods and ours
LOL.....Yer like if a child was kidnapped by a man dressed in a Santa Clause outfit with a flashing light on his head and riding a pink bicycle and was seen by a hundred witnesses they still wouldn`t put out a description of the suspect, they are inept bumbling idiots.
Come to think of it if I ever get the chance to kill that bitch of a ex wife of mine then I hope it`s in Portugal, I could leave a sample of my s*** and a pint of blood at the crime scene and they still woudn`t catch me.

RE: Live Earth....

RE: Am i being a prude?
Always thought that the original film was flawed by the age of the two main characters,I mean Oliver Newton John looks at leat mid thirties. Also Travolta was not suppose to sing Grease Lightning but sulked about it and pulled the star card ..........
And I dont think the kids should have sang the original lyrics..... :)

RE: Rome Tonight BBC2

RE: Why not use a Psychic to find Madeline ?
Quote:
Police do use these unusual talented people.
LOL... :)
Talented no, unusual oh yes, but only in the fact that they seem believe in their own crap.
Also for the family to use a "Psychic" would mean admitting to themselves that she his dead ,at this moment in time they seem to think she was snatched by Mary Poppins.
